Laughing In His Head
His face wasn't made for laughing. His teeth weren't made for showing, nor were his lips meant to curve in smiles. Severus Snape hid his amusement in the privacy of his head.
Currently, mad laughter could be heard in his head.
"He what?" Minerva asked faintly. Merlin, wasn't her expression hilarious?
"He blew up his family's house, cursed his relatives – literally, not in the Muggle sense -, hailed the Knight Bus, emptied his Gringott's vault, changed his Galleons to Muggle currency, and ran away," Severus repeated dutifully. He was careful to hide his amusement under his usual dryness.
He silently laughed while watching Albus eating – no, inhaling - lemon drops by dozens. Choke on it, crazy old man!
He laughed at Minerva's scandalised expression.
He laughed, because nobody will ever find Harry Bloody Potter again. Not after Severus helped him vanish so perfectly. The boy, under a new name, was about to start a new, hopefully happier, life among Muggles.
Severus laughed, because he finally felt he had fulfilled his promise to Lily.
