A/N: Takes place right before Sabrina wakes up.
Disclaimer: I don't own Sisters Grimm
Beep, Beep.
The heart monitor is the only noise to be found in the bright white room. Everything else is silent as he leans forward in the chair, brushing some of her golden hair away from her peaceful face. For once, she's not yelling or punching in his presence. For some reason, he can't help but wish it was like this between them more often.
Beep, Beep.
The obnoxious beeping of the heart monitor behind them greets her as she wakes from her quick nap. She glances over at her big sister, holding back tears of fear and worriment as she taps Granny for the thousandth time.
"Are you sure she's gonna be alright?"
"She's going to be okay, she just needs to wake up."
Daphne stares at her, eyes closed, arm in cast, hair askew.
"Are you sure?"
Beep, Beep.
She had heard the noise too many times, she thought.
From her sons countless injuries to Basil to now, Relda had found that she often did her best worrying to the sound of the monitor. Right now, however, she was more worried about Sabrina's decisions than injuries.
Why? Why would the poor soul do such a wild and stupid thing, without her sister, with whom she seemed to do everything with?
She hoped such rebellion was just a phase.
Beep, Beep.
On a (dumb) impulse, he leaned down and gently pressed his lips to hers, for shorter than a millisecond. Standing up, face red with embarrassment (and trying to figure out why he just did such a stupid thing), he slipped out the door to join the others in the waiting room.
He'd make up for it later by drawing on her face or something.
Beep, Beep
Maybe I could make her a card, Daphne thought. She left the room to hunt for some crayons and pretty paper.
Beep, Beep.
Perhaps her problem was she simply wasn't adjusted to the town around her. Yes, that must be it. Relda hoped they could talk about it later. Right now, however, she could use some coffee. She pats Sabrina's hand one last time before walking back out of the room and into the lobby, bumping into Daphne on the way out. She holds up crayons and paper innocently.
"I want to make her a card."
Relda smiles at the young girl's innocence, wishing she could be once again like that.
"Go ahead. I'm sure she'll love it."
She grins up at her and makes her way back into the room.
Beep, Beep.
Relda pours her coffee into a styrofoam cup.
Daphne leans over the small table carefully, full on in concentration.
Puck slumps against the wall, head in hands, trying to sort his thoughts.
Sabrina still lies, unmoving, in her hospital bed, dreaming.
A heavy air of anticipation fills the room, as they all wait.
Beep, Beep.
A/N: Ick. This is obnoxiously short to post alone, but obnoxiously long to post under Moments. Oh, well.
