Chapter 1
"In the beginning there was only ocean until "Mother Island" emerged... Momo. Her heart has the greatest power ever known. It could create life itself. And Momo shared it with the world. But in time, some began to seek out Momo's heart. They believed that if they could possess it, the great power of creation would be theirs. And one day... the most daring of them all voyaged across the vast ocean to take it. He was the Demigod of the wind and sea. He was a warrior... a trickster. A shape shifter who could change form with the power of his magical fish hook. And his name... was All Might.
But without her heart, Momo began to crumble, giving birth to a terrible darkness. All Might fought to escape, but was confronted by another who sought the heart... Shoto, a demon of Earth and Fire. All Might was struck from the sky never to be seen again. His magical fish hook and the heart of Momo were lost in the sea.
Even now... 1,000 years later, Shoto and the demons of the deep still hunt for the heart... hiding in the darkness that will continue to spread... chasing away our fish. Draining life from island after island. Until every one of us is devoured by the bloodthirsty jaws of inescapable death! But one day, the heart will be found by someone who would journey beyond the reef, find All Might, deliver him across the great ocean to restore Momo's heart, and save us all."
"Thank you, Mother. That's enough." Chief Aizawa interrupts, entering the hut full of young children supervised by the village elder/healer.
"Papa!" Izuku Midoriya toddled towards his father.
"Hello, Izuku...~ No one goes outside the reef. We're safe here. There is no darkness. There are no monsters." As he said this, he accidentally hit a curtain causing it to open. When it opened, it created a domino effect of other curtains around them opening with petrifying drawings of monsters on display. The children all began to scream.
Aizawa sighed at the children, "there is nothing beyond that reef but storm and rough sea. As long as we stay on our very safe island, we'll be fine."
"The legends are true," the elder said, "someone will have to go."
"Mother, Motunui is paradise. Who would want to go anywhere else?" Aizawa argued.
As they were arguing, Izuku had wandered off to the beach where several hundered baby sea turtles had just hatched. There were white seagulls swooping down and nipping at the turtles. Izuku gasped and grabbed a leaf in his small, chubby hands. He waved away the birds and kept the leaf above a turtle. He carefully walked the turtle down to the ocean and watched it swim away.
The ocean suddenly began to glimmer. The tide went down and revealed a beautiful seashell. Izuku gasped and walked to pick it up. He peered through the water and saw another one. Delighted, he reached out. The waves separated, allowing him to pick it up. He kept walking as the ocean kept separating. He reached out and touched the water, giggling in delight.
Unexpectedly, a small wave came forth and placed a glowing green rock into his hand. He observed it before gasping at hearing his name called. He dropped the rock and shells as the ocean slid Izuku back onto the beach.
"Izuku! There you are! Oh, Izuku... what were you doing? You scared me!" Aizawa picked up Izuku.
"Fun. I wanna go back," Izuku reached out to the ocean.
"I know, I know. But you don't go out there. It's dangerous, Izuku. Come on. Let's go back to the village. You are the next great chief of our people,"
"And you'll do wondrous things, my little minnow," said Kayama, Izuku's mother.
"Oh yes. But first you'll need to learn where you're meant to be," they started heading back towards the village.
"Izuku, it's time you knew the village of Motunui is all you need. The dancers are practicing," they walked by a group of dancers, "they dance to an ancient song. The tradition is our mission, and Izuku there's so much to do," they continued to walk through the village, "Don't trip on the taro root. That's all you need. We share everything we make. We joke and weave our baskets and the fishermen come back from the sea,"
Izuku began to toddle away, being haulted by Aizawa and Kayama.
"Don't walk away. Izuku, stay on the ground now. Our people will need a chief and there you are," Aizawa said.
"There comes a day when you're gonna look around and realize happiness is where you are," Kayama smiled and picked up Izuku as they walked into their hut.
several years later
Izuku had gone back to the shore and was again scolded by his parents.
"Consider the coconut," Aizawa said, picking up a coconut.
"The what...?" Izuku looked at the coconut.
"Consider the tree. We use each part of the coconut; that's all we need," Aizawa stated, handing him the coconut.
"We make our nets from the fibers," Kayama added, "the water's sweet inside. We use the leaves to make fires. We cook up the meat inside,"
"Ok, I think I-"
"Consider the coconuts, the trunks, and the leaves. The island gives us what we need," Aizawa stated flatly.
"And no one leaves," the green-haired added with a sigh.
"That's right; we stay. We're safe and we're well provided. And when we look to the future there you are," Aizawa ruffled Izuku's hair, "you'll be ok. In time you'll learn just as I did,"
"You must find happiness right where you are," Kayama added as they finished making their point.
LE ANOTHER FREAKING TIME SKIP AND NOW IZUKU IS LIKE 15
Izuku snuck away from the village and pushed through the leaves to see the beautiful beach and waves. On the beach was Uraraka.
"Oh, hi Deku," she smiled and motioned him over.
"What are you doing?" Izuku asked as he walked over to join Uraraka.
She glanced over at the ocean, "I like to dance with the water... the undertow and the waves. The water is mischevious. I like how it misbehaves,"
Izuku looked at the ocean as well, then looked down to observe the movements Uraraka made with her feet as she danced.
"The village may say I'm crazy," Uraraka looked up at the sky, "or that I drift too far. But once you know what you like, well there you are,"
They began to walk down the beach.
"You are your father's son, you know," Uraraka said.
"Well duh," Izuku laughed and looked at the sand.
"No... I mean your stubbornness and pride. Mind what he says, but remember; you may hear a voice inside. And if the voice starts to whisper 'follow the farthest star'... Izuku, that voice inside is who you are," Uraraka smiled and looked at him as they stopped walking.
Izuku eyed the fishermen's boats and began to walk towards them. Aizawa stepped out in front of him.
"Dad, heyyy..." Izuku began to sweat nervously, "I was only looking at the boats. I wasn't gonna go on them..."
"Izuku, come. There is something I must show you," the duo began to walk through the village and up a mountain, "I've wanted to bring you here from the moment you opened your eyes for the first time. This is a sacred place. The place of chiefs. There would come a time when you will stand on this peak and place a stone on this mountain like I did, and my father did, and his father, and every chief there ever has been. And on that day, Izuku, when you place your stone, you will raise this whole island higher," he put a hand on Izuku's shoulder, "you ar ethe future of our people, Izuku. They are not out there. They are right here. It's time to be who they need you to be,"
Izuku took in his father's words and looked over at the ocean, then the village, "Then here I'll stay. I have my people to guide me... so I'll find happiness here," He looked up at Aizawa.
"That's right. Here... where you are,"
