A/N: My take on Jasper and Peter's relationship. Warning: Semi Slash. And thanks to my faithful Beta: Passion Assassin.
Bella's Point Of View
Intimacy
It was without a doubt, one of the most strangest things I had ever seen in my life.
His eyes were dark, and searching. His brunette hair looked tasseled, pulled back and clawed at, from stress and impatience. His muscles were tensed, his stance was imposing, yet he managed to keep a polite smile on his face as he shook hands and hugged everyone in the room. He looked exhausted, if that were even possible. And you could tell that he was left empty with every hug, handshake, and kiss on the cheek. He wasn't interested in any of the greetings, and certainly didn't want to answer any questions. The reason why? – None of these people was the one he sought.
But then he came into the room. He wore his normal long-sleeved V-neck, and dark baggy jeans. His eyes were the same shade of gold as they always were, and his hair was the same tone of honey, and was laying the exact same way it always had. To me, everything was the same. To me, it was just the same old Jasper Hale. But to him, it was something entirely different.
As soon as they began making their way towards each other, it became obvious that this confrontation was going to be different. This time, the brunette wouldn't be left empty. He would feel complete the moment they touched, and would finally be at ease. I watched silently as they stopped in front of each other, and was amazed at how they both seemed completely oblivious to everyone else in the room. I could see the invisible strings binding them together, strings that I only thought existed between Jasper and Alice. They started moving simultaneously, as if choreographed. Jasper's arms slunk around Peter's waist gracefully, as Peter's wrapped around his neck. The brunette's face rested on Jasper's broad shoulder, and you could tell that he would be crying now if he could.
"Brother. I've missed you." Peter whispered.
But this wasn't a brotherly hug. This wasn't the type of hug you gave an old friend, no matter how long it's been since you've seen them. No, this definitely wasn't it. This was different.
Watching them pull away was like watching someone attempt to separate two very strong magnets. And as their eyes leveled out, it was almost as if they were struggling to not let their mouths attach. I watched as eventually, the force became too powerful, and Jasper rested his forehead against the other man's.
"You don't know the half of it." He murmured back to him. Both pairs of eyes gently shut, and then they just stood there. They just stood, basking in each others' presence as if there weren't seven other people in the room watching with the same confused expressions.
No. This wasn't brotherly. This wasn't friendly. This was something entirely different. This…was intimate.
