Laughing, giggling, swaying, dancing.

Drunken people that had to sit down on the various garden tables and chairs spread around. Giggling women that scratched his ears, trailed a hand down his tail, but never in ithat/i way. It was an admiring, not lustful, gaze that they looked at him with. No one was stupid enough to look at Roy Mustang lustfully. No one was stupid to just ithink/i it, out of fear that his lover would kill them. And he would. It had happened before.

Roy's lover was the assuming and protective type - no, he was worse than that. He didn't like to share. Didn't share what was his. But Roy didn't mind it that much. At least he was allowed to make friends. His paws gripped the glass tightly, not wanting to drop it. The dark fur from wrist-downwards stood out against his pale skin, but Maes always said that it added to his good looks. Everyone liked pale people.

Some women were admiring his ears again, and he enjoyed the attention while he could. Not that he wasn't showered with attention at home, but ... It was still nice. He frowned when they quickly moved away from him, and sighed, knowing perfectly well that Maes was here. Possessive and jealous as ever. He managed to put his half-empty glass down on a small metal table before he was picked up, bridal style, and carried away, back over the fence Maes had jumped over.

Paws instinctively wrapped around his lover's neck, not wanting to be dropped. "What were you doing?" He could feel Maes' purple eyes watching him, but didn't meet his gaze, instead stared off into the distance. "I was just talking." Roy murmured, nuzzling his face against Maes' hair in apology. "They were touching your ears." Roy couldn't argue with that, and so simply sighed, clinging to the homunculus.

Maes pushed the door of their small house open, which he had left ajar on his way out. "You know you shouldn't drink alcohol around other people. Getting drunk leads to kissing. Kissing leads to sex." Now Roy could see the anger in his gaze, and he mewed softly, nosing his bearded jaw. He supposed Maes had a point. He was set down, but quickly hurried over to curl up on Maes' lap as he sat down on an armchair.

"You have everything you could ever want right here." He scratched Roy's ears, elicting little purrs from him. "You don't need them. Whatever you want, I'll give it to you." Maes' arms slipped round his waist, hands sliding up the back of his shirt to trail light fingers along his spine. "I'll protect you from the world."

Despite what others thought, Roy didn't consider himself a possession. Maes loved him, and that was all that he needed. What more could he ask for? He wasn't scared of him, unlike other people. Because he was all that Maes had, wanted, and needed. Roy was the only thing that mattered to the homunculus, and that made him feel special.

And anyway. If he ever considered going off with someone else, Maes would call a vet to neuter him.
