Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter

So I was re-reading the Order of the Phoenix yesterday and was at the part where Dudley encountered the dementors and after they got back to number four Harry was wondering what was the worst experience of Dudley Dursley's life. I thought that was a good question so here's my take on it.

'No' thought Dudley as a cold darkness overtook him whatever spell Harry was using, he think he was going to pay for it. Then came the slow rattling breath, as though the thing breathing it was trying to suck more than air from it's surroundings. In that instant Dudley Dursley realized that this was something beyond Harry's control. He could hear Harry's voice as though he was hearing it from beneath water.

"Dudley, whatever you do don't open your mouth!"

What did Harry think he was stupid? Why would he open his mouth? Blindly, stumbling Dudley turned and ran.

"Dudley stop you're running right at it!"

Dudley tried to turn around but slipped on the usually icy ground. As he struggled to return to his feet he felt something slimy and cold brush his face. Flinging his arms up to cover his mouth, Dudley felt himself slide back to the ground as he lost consciousness.

He was back at his first day at Smeltings. He hated that day. First time he wasn't the strongest. He wasn't the most popular. He couldn't control the other kids. He was at the bottom. Life was no longer handed to him on a sliver platter.

He got in trouble for fighting with other students, mouthing off to teachers and for throwing tantrums. After his first year he didn't really want to go back.

Harry came back from his magic school having had a great year. For the first time in his life Dudley Dursley was jealous.

Though he would never admit it Dudley Dursley was jealous of Harry for his magic. When he was small used to play games with his friends where they could cast magical spells and fly on broomsticks.

His parents told him to never play those games again. They told him that magic was bad, and would only get him into trouble. But he never truly stopped believing in magic. He almost didn't want to get that pig-tail removed because of the magic behind it.

Worst of all Harry never seemed afraid of him anymore. He acted like he had face something much worse. Soon he would be allowed to use magic whenever he wanted, something that Dudley wished to do when he was small.

"This way get it!"

Dudley awoke to see Harry standing over him with his wand drawn. The thing had gone, the night air was warm again but still he could not stand.

In that instant, as he lay panting on the ground, Dudley Dursley realized that Harry was no longer a little boy who got bullied by him. Harry Potter was stronger than he'd ever be, no matter how many boxing championships he won.

Because what Dudley found most strange was the expression on Harry's face after he got back from that school each year.

Harry Potter was smiling.

How was that? Please leave me a review, I don't know if I'm better at more light and funny stories or more dramatic and thought-provoking stories so I appreciate it. I hope this captures what Dudley would've been thinking during the dementor attack. Love you all.
