Hermione crumpled to the ground in tears. She and Sirius had just had one of the biggest fights of their relationship, over Harry of all people. Sirius had just walked out of 12 Grimmauld Place with not a word on where he was going.
"Why isn't he answering?" Hermione asked the older male, plopping down on the settee next to Sirius. "We've never gone this long without talking."
Sirius sighed and turned to her, "You really think that Harry wants to be found? It is the anniversary of his parents death."
Hermione shook her head, frowning, "Well, no. But that still doesn't give him a reason to just disappear off the face of the earth!"
"Hermione, will you just drop it? How was work?" Sirius tried to swiftly change the subject, rolling his eyes when Hermione ignored both questions.
"But I'm his best friend! He should know I'd listen if he needed someone to talk to! Just urgh," she ended her rant, resting her head on the back of the sofa.
Sirius took a calming breath, finding it didn't work. "Hermione, I'm starting to think that you would rather be with Harry. If you really want to go find him, then go! I'm not sitting here and listening to this."
Sirius hadn't come back that night, or the day after. He finally crawled in a week later, finding that Hermione hadn't moved from their shared bed. Guilt flooded through him before he climbed in next to her and held her tight.
