"Hot Stuff, hold still! Do you want me to choke you?" Penelope giggled out as she tried fixing Derek's tie.
"I'm sorry, Baby Girl. I'm just nervous," he answered. Derek brought a hand up to pinch the bridge of his nose as Penelope finished the last loop on his tie.
"There. Perfect," she smiled and then proceeded to smooth the shoulders of his blazer. "You, my chocolate drop, are handsome," Penelope said as she took Derek's hand from his nose and held it. "It will be fine, Derek. Just be yourself, baby. And they'll love you like I do."
Derek smiled and leaned down to kiss Penelope's lips. When they released, he spoke.
"I love you. And I know they'll love me - it's just - a tough crowd, Sweetheart." Derek half-laughed out. Penelope laughed and brought her hand to cup his cheek.
"Handsome, it's an auditorium full of elementary school children. It's not like you're gonna deliver a press conference about an UNSUB. It's career day and our little Dumpling is waiting for her Superhero Daddy to talk about his job. The kids will love you." Penelope said as she rubbed her thumb across his cheek. Derek turned his head tie kiss her palm.
"I know to her I'm a Superhero, but to everyone else - "
"You are, baby," Penelope interrupted him. "After all, you saved me." she smiled and Derek saw love twinkle in her eyes.
"No, Baby Girl," Derek started as he wrapped Penelope in his arms and she buried her in his chest. "You saved me. Every day. I love you, Penelope Morgan."
And I love you, too, Derek Morgan. Now go -" Penelope stopped speaking when she and Derek heard and uprising chant coming from the auditorium.
"FBI! FBI! FBI!" could be heard from the room full of students. Both Derek and Penelope laughed and he put a hand on her 6 month baby bump.
"At least it will be another 5 years before my next career day. Or maybe this little one will ask his Momma to speak in a room full of 400 plus students, eh baby?" Derek's smile widened when he felt their child kick in response. Penelope giggled and put her hand over his as it rested on her stomach.
"We'll cross that bridge when we get to it, Hot Stuff. Now go on and get out there. They sound restless," Penelope said as Derek laughed and kissed again before going out on stage from behind the curtain. Being greeted by applause, he stepped up to the microphone and introduced himself.
"Good morning. My name is Derek Morgan and I work for the FBI in the Behavioral Analysis Unit and -"
"Hi Daddy!" a tiny voice shouted towards the stage and interrupted his introduction. Derek looked out and saw a little hand waving in the air.
"Hey, Princess." Derek smiled and waved to his daughter. The he resumed his speech.
Abby Morgan put her hand down and whispered to her friend next to her.
"That's my Daddy. He's a Superhero."
"Really?" her friend asked.
"Yep. Him and my Mommy," Abby answered and looked in Penelope's direction as she came and sat in the empty chair next to her. "Isn't that right, Mommy? Daddy and you are Superheroes."
"Sure is, Abby Dabby." Penelope answered and smoothed a hand over her daughter's hair. "But Daddy is the Ultimate Superhero."
