Comfort 4
Frodo and the other hobbits were surrounded by the ringwraiths. They were standing back to back with their swords out ready to defend Frodo. The ringwraiths were hissing at hobbits while they were moving towards them. When they were close enough the ringwraiths parted and the tallest ringwraith advanced towards Frodo and held his blade out in front of him. Frodo put on the ring to escape from the ringwraith, but instead of escaping, he saw their true forms. They were as white as sheets with faces that were twisted with malice. The witch king stabbed Frodo in his left shoulder which caused Frodo to feel sharp icy pain. Frodo screamed. Suddenly, he woke up.
The scene above is from the Lord of the Rings Fellowship of the Ring book and movie.
Sam, who heard him screaming, ran into Frodo's bedroom and took him in his arms. He tried to comfort him by rocking him back and forth. Frodo rubbed his shoulder because it was hurting him badly.
"It's alright Frodo dear; it's alright. You are safe now. You're Sam is here," he said soothingly.
"It was horrible Sam. I dreamed the witch king stabbed me again."
"You're safe now; the witch king can't get you here."
"I still feel him and the ring. It's as if they are still here."
The ring is not here anymore and neither is he. They are both gone for good."
At that moment Rosie entered the door. She was wearing her robe over her nightgown. She saw Frodo looking Pale and in pain, and her husband was holding him in his arms trying to comfort him.
"Is he alright Sam?" she asked.
"No he is not. Can you bring make him a cup of chamomile tea? We also need boiled athelas for his wounded shoulder."
Rosie left the room. She poured water in a kettle. Then she put the kettle on the stove. She lit the wood underneath the stove. She went into the cupboard and grabbed Frodo's favorite cup and a bag of chamomile tea. She put chamomile tea and a little bit of athelas in it. She took another small cup and put more athelas in it. When the water was boiled enough she poured the water in both cups and carried it back to Frodo's room. She also took a spoon with her.
She gave Sam the cup of boiled leaves. The steam from the cup carried the athelas scent in the air which made everyone in the room feel warmer and more comfortable. Sam took the athelas out of the cup with the spoon and put it on Frodo's reddened shoulder. The athelas relieved him of some of his pain and added color to his cheeks.
Sam had him cradled in his arms while Rosie brought the cup of tea to Frodo's lips and had him sip it. Frodo started to feel better after he sipped the tea. Sam and Rosie kept comforting him until he fell asleep again. When he fell asleep he dreamed about his parents comforting him when he was sick. Rosie went back to her room.
The End.
