A silent chill went through the nursery's walls, the wind sings softly as it goes through the tree branches. A tiny brown kit opens its yellow eyes in the darkness, it glances at its sleeping littermates and mother before getting up and creeping towards the den exit.

It looks around the camp, most cats are asleep, peacefully in their dens, unaware of this little escapee. It creeps towards the camp entrance, keeping close to the shadows of the dens to hide. A big black and white tom is sitting next to the entrance, trying to stay awake.

The kit halts, wondering how to get past the tom when suddenly, something grabs the kit by its scruff and holds it up. The kit squeals and wiggles, trying to get away from it "Let me go, you big meanie!"

The thing who grabbed it, sighs "Acornkit….Why do you always have to try to sneak out?"

Acornkit stops wiggling and looks up at the she-cat who held her, it was a grey and white tabby with amber eyes. She squeaks loudly "I wanna go explore! So let me go, Berrycreek!"

Berrycreek shakes her head and grumbles "You know I have to tell your mother about this…"

"Noooo!" Acornkit whines as Berrycreek turns and walks back into the nursery

As the white tail disappears into the nursery, blue eyes peer out of the darkness as a cream-colored tabby steps into the moonlight from the warriors' den. Deep thought clouds the tom's mind as he walks into the apprentice den.
