Hero
A/N. This is a songfic to the song 'Hero'...the one by Chad Kroeger and Joey Scott not Enrique!!! You know, the one from 'Spiderman'!!! Quite short (I wrote it in my English lesson...what, I'd finished my Hamlet essay!!!), might be confusing though...I'll explain at the end!!! Could be seen as a companion piece to my trilogy ('There's No Turning Back', 'Funestus' and 'Death Threat') through the eyes of Jenny Dumbledore or it could be anyone (but Ginny), a stand alone!!!!:}
I am so high, I can hear heaven
I am so high, I can hear heaven
Oh, but heaven, no heaven, don't hear me.
She stood there, watching him. He was a hero, though he did not see himself as one.
And they say that a hero can save us
I'm not going to stand here and wait
I'll hold on to the wings of the eagles
Watch as we all fly away.
It was the final battle between good and evil, Light and Dark, Aurors and Death Eaters. The world would be shaped with the effects of whoever won today, whoever prevailed. Light did not always triumph over Dark.
Someone told me, love would will now save us
But how can that be
Look what love gave us
A world full of killing
And blood spilling
That world never came.
They stood either side of the clearing, knowing the air would soon be heavy with the cries of the dying and the grass would be splattered with blood.
Overhead, the clouds burst open and rain started to fall.
And they say that a hero can save us
I'm not going to stand here and wait
I'll hold on to the wings of the eagles
Watch as we all fly away.
Their leader was giving them last minute encouragement, as they eyed the enemy warily. It had been foretold he would lead them to glory...or death. Ironic, she thought, the stars had not told them which. He stood alone once more. He stood alone as he felt so often. He held his head high with pride, knowing what they were about to face. Wand clenched in his hand, he stared at the opposition, his green eyes flashing with fire.
Ahhh
She loved him. She'd loved him since she'd first met him. She'd been with him through everything, witnessing him becoming the youngest ever Minister for Magic. They'd become close, closer than close, maybe even become in a relationship with him...but she knew he couldn't become committed whilst the threat of Voldemort remained. He told her that if they came through this alive, maybe, just maybe...
Now the world isn't ending
It's love that I'm sending to you
It isn't the love of a hero
And that's why I fear it won't do.
He'd said that he wasn't their saviour, that he wasn't born special. She'd told him it wasn't who they thought he was, it was who he'd grown up to be, what he'd grown up to do. He'd done so many great things. The people trusted him, that's why he was standing where he was, at the front of the Light, leading his people foreword.
And they say that a hero can save us
I'm not going to stand here and wait
I'll hold on to the wings of the eagles
Watch as we all fly away
She looked at him and smiled. If Heaven was going to send them a hero, it was too late. They had Harry, he was all they needed.
A/N. I know, great song, rubbish story!!! Never mind hey...my school seem to be under the impression that I'm good at English, they've entered me for my AS levels in it over a year early!!! I have to read a book called 'Enduring Love' over the summer...if anyone's read it let me know if it's any good!!! It's all a big ruse I tell you, I'm a fake, a fraud....aaaaaaaaaaaah!!!! Anyway...yeah, the story, well, it's someone else's perspective of Harry Potter as he leads them to battle...simple!!!:}
