Oh. My. Gosh. Am I really doing this? Yes. I am, but what if they don't want me. Who fucking caresss. My thoughts ramble inside my head as I wait for someone to answer the door.

The door opens wide, a pale boy with blonde hair stands in the way. "Hello," he says, his smile kind and warming, "How may I help you?"

"Um I have some questions, If the person in charge could help me."

Oh crap. Did that sound rude? Maybe to straight-forward.

He nods and opens the door to welcome me in, "Come in then, I'm Bobby, I can take you to see her."

"Thank you. I'm Orien," I say almost to softly, he might have not heard me.

My breath exhales quietly. Just stepping inside makes me nauseous. I hate being new to places. When I walk down the big beautiful mahogany halls I can see kids walk by and some of them stare. Is it because I'm new or weird? No, aren't they weird too?

When we arrive at a wooden door, the boy knocked twice. Quickly answered with a soft voice, "Come in."

As we walk in, Bobby introduces me, "Hey Storm, we have a girl here for you. Her name is Oren."

Damnit! What do I say?!

I flinch and stutter, "Um, actually, my name is Orien and I am not a girl."

Bobby's eyes grew, "I, um, I'm sorry?"

I try to play it off cool with a shrug, "I am not a boy either."

His brows furrow, "I'm sorry, I don't quite understand."

Storm just stares at me, not judging but interested. So I answer the best I can. "I am transgender. You know not the gender I was assigned at birth."

Storm puts a comforting hand on Bobby's shoulder. "We will find you a room. Here at Xavier's we are known for our hospitality. Do you have anything else you would like to tell us?"

My lips curve into a grin, "Yes, my pronouns are they, them," their faces screw into confusion, "Like, Orien is very excited to be here, they like this place so far, but are spectacle is they are welcomed," I puff out air in exasperation. "You just replace the she with they, the her with their, and herself with themselves."

Storm nods as if she understands, "We will need to know more about you if we are going to let you into our school. This is not just for minorities like transgender and homosexuality. This is with those with unique abilities."

My lips grow tight, "Oh yeah, I'm sorry."

I think about a beach, with cool small waves licking the sand. Ticking my ankles, laughter, children are laughing, but it soon ends. The sky goes dark and the laughter stops. I turn around and a big wave is right in front of me, my heart feels like it leaps outside of my chest. When I am about to run, I feel a hand grab mine, I look to my right and see Storm. She is looking at me with her big brown eyes and her face is full of compassion. Bobby, on the other hand is staring at the big wave in total fear. I break the concentration, and we are back in Storms office. She is breathing harder than I thought and Bobby is rushing around looking for a trash can. Storm breathes out sharply, "Welcome to Xavier's House for Gifted Youngsters."
