Charlie Weasley was perfectly happy about being single. He tried dating once; it didn't end well. He was happy with his dragons, as they made him happy. Sure, he had several burn scars up his body, and their fires often singed off his eyebrows, but he felt that they were the joys of his life. The dragons understood him, like he understood them.

All of his family had partners and children. Ron had Hermione, and Rose and Hugo. Ginny had Harry, and James, Albus and Lily. George had Angelina, and Roxanne and Fred. Percy had Audrey, and Molly and Lucy. Bill had Fleur, and Victoire, Dominique and Louis. His mother expected him to have a wife and kids, which was a bit stereotypical, as, for all she knew, he could be gay. Not that he was, mind you. He had long since discovered he was not emotionally attached to anyone.

All he needed was his dragons. Why depend on someone when you can have dragons? When you're in a life-threatening situation with a dragon nearby, the dragon will have no problem turning the danger into ash. Why wouldn't you want a dragon?

Not that he owned the dragons, per se. He just worked with them. Nevertheless, he loved them.

He just hoped they loved him back...

Charlie Weasley was glad he was single. Getting rid of burn scars cost money, as did dates... He couldn't deal with both.
