Title: The Island
Author: EvilHermione1824
Summary: Hey! This was originally a poem I had to write for English class.
I wasn't sure if it was good or not so I thought I would post it. So tell
me what you think. It's a Lord of the Flies poem. Enjoy! R/R
Disclaimer: I do not or have ever owned Lord of the Flies. If some of it
sounds familiar; it is because I took a couple passages and put them in
there.

Then one of the boys flopped on his face in the sand.
The choir heaved the fallen boy to the platform and let him lie.
He was a skinny, vivid little boy.
His strait hair hung down, black and coarse.
He tends to wander off alone,
For he is an island.

Inside the floating cloak he was tall, thin, and bony.
His hair was red beneath the black cap.
His face was crumpled and freckled, and ugly without silliness.
Out of this face stared two light blue eyes.
He likes to go hunting by himself,
For he is an island

The voice came out of the undergrowth so that twigs scratched on a greasy
wind-breaker.
The naked crooks of his knees were plump, caught and scratched by thorns.
He was shorter than the fair boy and very fat.
He had thick spectacles.
None of the boys respect him,
For he is an island

They are all islands in their own way.
Others that have not been mentioned are also islands.
Yet they live together.
They try to make it work.
They are all different and it is hard for them,
For they are on an island.
