A/N: This is my submission for the "First Kiss Challenge." Since it's George/Luna, and I've never really thought much about these two as a ship before, this was definitely difficult. But I'm proud of how it came out and I hope that you all enjoy it!
Blueberry Kisses
"You two are rather boring."
Seven-year-old Luna Lovegood stated. She wasn't complaining, but merely pointing out a fact.
"Oh yeah?" Fred Weasley challenged. In all of his ten years of life, no one had ever dared to call him boring.
His twin, George, turned to face Luna. "If we're so boring, than why did you follow us? We didn't ask you to play."
Luna didn't seem perturbed. She really was an odd child. "Daddy said that I should go out and find some new friends. And so I went looking, and I found you two."
The boys huffed in unison.
"We don't want to be your friends—"
"Because girls are icky."
"Boys are ickier," Luna replied vaguely. "And boring."
Fred's face grew red in indignation. "We are NOT boring!"
"So play with me," Luna smiled.
"Fine," George said, casting a glance at his brother. "But only for a little while."
Luna sat gracefully on the grass, her tattered skirt spread out around her. The twins sat down, too, in identical cross-legged positions.
"Before you say anything," Fred eyed Luna, "we are NOT playing any girly games. No tea parties, or pretend-house or…or any of those dumb things that Ginny always wants!"
"That's fine," Luna said serenely. "So what would you like to do?"
Fred and George looked at each other, and turned back to Luna, grinning evilly.
"Truth or dare!"
Luna nodded. "That sounds nice."
"Oh yeah?" Fred asked maliciously. "Then I dare you to…to eat a worm!" He looked triumphant, thinking that she would surely be too squeamish and leave.
"Can you help me find one?" She didn't look bothered in the slightest. Fred was shocked.
"But…but isn't it gross?" He stammered. "Doesn't it make your tummy feel yucky to just think of it?"
"Well, yes," she replied, beginning to dig through the dirt. "But a dare is a dare."
George laughed at Fred's stunned face. "That's right, Freddie." He winked at Luna, pulling a worm out of the ground. "Here you go."
"Thank you." She took the squirming thing out of his hand and considered it for a moment, before slurping it up like spaghetti. She swallowed. "That wasn't so bad."
Fred looked even more annoyed with her. "Well, what's grosser than worms then?"
She pondered this for a long minute, and then replied. "There are a lot of things that are grosser than worms. But boys are definitely the grossest, because only a boy would dare someone to eat a worm."
"Aha!" Fred exclaimed. "Then George, I dare you to kiss Luna! She'll think it's so gross!"
"But I think that's gross too!" George protested. It was Fred's turn to laugh at the look of surprise on his twin's face.
"A dare is a dare, Georgie."
George clenched his fists. "Fine. But I don't want you to see!"
He stood up, took Luna gruffly by the arm and led her behind one of the blueberry bushes nearby.
"Let's get this over with, then." He grumbled.
"I don't want my first kiss to be with someone so grumpy!" For the first time, Luna had a firm tone in her voice. "Cheer up!"
George was taken aback. "What do you mean?"
"I mean, at least look like you wanna kiss me!" Her usually dreamy face was twisted into a frown. "Close your eyes, and pucker your lips. Like this." She showed him.
George rolled his eyes, but complied. He felt her lean closer, and just barely touch her own lips to his, before she pulled away.
"See, all done." She stood up before George's eyes were even open, and walked back to where Fred was sitting. "You're both still boring."
