" Awe, mom I can't believe that you kept that picture." Lucy said.
" Well honey, it was your first real crush. Besides your crush on Jimmy down the street when you were five." Annine said with a smirk on her face.
In fact Lucy hadn't thought about Jason in such a long time. But it seemed like it had just happened yesterday.
As she looked into those sky blue eyes of his and braced myself for another rejection. The silence alsting what seemed like forever. And her heart did back flips when those plump, pink, perfect lips formed the words yes. The first two weeks were perfect, they spent all their free time together. And then we entered our third week and I could tell he had lost interest in me. But why? After a few days he started to flirt with another girl, at first I didn't say anything, tried to act like it didn't bother me, but I went home at night and I cried and cried. But every morning I would put on that fake smile. Until one day a few days before their our month anniversary he broke it off. This rejection hit home and it hit home hard. I had been dumped and rejected before and it never really bothered me. My friends and my family helped me get back up on my feet but I didn't like anyone liked I had liked him. I finally figured it out why this rejection had hurt me so bad, it was because he made me feel pretty, smart, wanted and needed. For the first day or so he tried to be my friend but I pushed him away and avoided him at all cause. And after a few a weeks I accepted his decision and we became friends. But then he crossed the line, he flirted with my best friend! And she flirted back! I started avoiding him, e-mailing him hate notes and so much more. He tried to be friends again but he gave up this time. I couldn't believe that this was happening, my best friend was being forced to choose between her best friend and well her other best friend, and both of us fought for her attention and all her free time. But he usually won because well he was cute, athletic. This made me mad and I started to give her ultimatums, me or no one. She didn't like that but she liked me as a friend and after all I was her tutor.
That was the story of our three week realationship. And looking back now I know that Annie and Eric had raised me better then that. They raised me to love and forgive like I had my loving husband Kevin the other day when we had, had a fight over what Savannah should wear out to dinner.
" Lucy...Lucy...LUCY?" Annie and Kevin called.
" Yeah, sorry I was thinking." She replied.
"OK good, I thought something was wrong." Kevin said.
Kevin and Lucy went home to their adorable daughter Savannah.
And Lucy went home rembering the lesson she learned after her realationship with Jason.
Have hope because sooner or later everything will get better. So don't give up.
