Georgia is totaling her bills for the month. She's sitting in her apartment in Atlanta with the curtains drawn, the sunlight coming brightly through the open window. She can hear the bustling city outside, and smiles happily, "New South," indeed. Georgia takes a sip of her coffee and grimaces, as it's gotten cold. She goes to the coffee machine to make a new mug, when she spots a note where her coffee machine should have been. It reads; "Dear Georgia, I borrowed your coffee maker. Thanks, Florida."

Alabama leaves his Montgomery state building, and adjusts his tie, wiping the sweat off of his brow. The weather reached a record high today, but he still came to work. Now all he wants, is to go home. Well, go home and sit down with a nice, cold drink, that is. He heads over to his car, only to find what looks like a shopping cart in the parking space he used that morning. He walks up to the cart, and finds a note taped to the grip, reading; "Dear Alabama, thanks for the car, I needed the engine. You can have this shopping cart instead. From, Florida."

"Okay, how about these lyrics, then?" South Dakota hands his twin a page out of his notebook, and taps his drumsticks idly against the table at which he's sitting. The two are in their basement, working on new songs together. North Dakota mumbles the lyrics under his breath, then nods. "Cool." North Dakota gets up from the table, and walks over to where he just put his guitar, to find a conspicuous hole on the messy basement floor where it should have been. "Bro," He asks, turning back to his twin; "Where'd you put Clara?" South Dakota looks up. "The guitar? Oh yeah, Florida took it." North Dakota walks over to his twin. "She left a note, by the way." North Dakota reads the note to himself, and it reads; "Hey North, I borrowed Denice for a while, I'll give her back soon. I promise, Florida."
"Her name's Clara…"

Virginia wakes up from her midday nap with a yawn and a stretch, blinking a few times as she rubs the sleep out of her eyes. Going to the bathroom, she flicks on the lights, then screams with rage. All the hair on one side of her head seems to have cut off with blunt scissors. What's left of her blonde hair is sticking out at odd angles, and as she examines the damage, she spies a little yellow post-it note on the mirror. She looks at it closely, and reads; "Thanks for the hair, Florida."

Back in her own home in Miami, Florida is assembling some sort of contraption using what she's taken. She's sketching something absentmindedly with one hand, using the other to tie Virginia's hair clippings into a braid. Suddenly, the door breaks open, kicked in by a foot in a combat boot. That foot is attached to a very angry Virginia, covering her lopsided "haircut" with an army helmet, who's leading the other States whose items were pilfered. "Give. Back. My. HAIR."
"Aww, come on guys, I was so close to time travel too! Why'd you have to spoil it?" Florida whines, as the States take their things, filing in, and filing back out as Virginia glares. The braids are snatched out of Florida's hand by he angry State, and they all leave, Virginia giving her younger "sister" a glare that could peel paint.
Florida waits until they leave, then smiles, looking at a little yellow post-it note. "Annoy the others; Check. Next to go, paint Nebraska's house orange."
