Title: Paopu For You
Authour: Ichizu
Disclaimer: I do not own Kingdom Hearts or anything KH related. Why would I be writing a fic if I did?
Note: This story is set a teensy bit after KH2. :)
Sora held the yellow star-shaped fruit in his hand with the utmost of care. "It has to be perfect," he thought. All week he had been contemplating on sharing this legendary fruit with her. That whole week, he hadn't seen or spoken to her at all (except earlier that day when he asked her to come to the small island they'd played on when they were younger)because he was grounded. His mother didn't believe the whole I-was-away-for-more-than-a-year-because-I-was-out-saving-the-world-using-a-giant-key story, so she punished him. He was finally aloud to go out for three hours a day (excluding school hours) and he finally found the brightest, ripest paopu fruit.
Sora sat up, brushed the sand off of his hair and clothes after putting the paopu safely secured in a pouch attached to his pants. He then stood up, looke around to see if anyone else had come to the small island hang-out and sighed heavily. "Okay, Sora, this is it!" He said to himself. "When Kairi comes, you're gonna look her in the eye! And say! 'This is for us!' You're gonna do it!"
"Sora?" He heard a voice not too far away and jumped. "K-kairi!" He squeaked. Kairi giggled. "Is anyone else here?" "Ah, no." Sora smiled nervously. He slowly reached into his pouch for the paopu. "Just us two." "Oh." Kairi walked closer to him. "So. How much longer do you have out?" She asked. "About an hour? I think." Kairi nodded and plopped herself on the sand riht next to Sora, then lightly tugged on his pants, signaling that she'd like him to join her. He sat beside her, with the most awkward feeling pestering him since he heard her voice.
For a long while, there was silence. "Uhm, Kairi-?" "I have something for you!" Kairi beamed, cutting Sora off. She reached into her school bag. "I meant to give it to you since we got back! But stuff has been happening, y'know!" To Sora's pleasure and dismay, it was a paopu fruit. "Let's share it, 'kay?" Kairi blushed. "You don't know how badly I want to! But Kairi! How could you!" Kairi was slightly set aback by his comment. "WHAT!" He could tell she was pissed and would go of on him any second, but before she slapped him silly, he said, "I was supposed to offer you a paopu!" He pulled the fruit out of his pants pouch. Kairi laughed and when she was done, they fed each other the paopu fruit's they brought.
