Hiro gives the guitar a few warm-up strums before nodding to Suguru, who nods back. And then they begin.

This is how music is supposed to be played. This is it. The beauty, the passion, the emotion.

This isn't about beating Nittle Grasper. It isn't about selling CDs.

It's pure. It's music for the sake of music.

It's music. It's in their blood, in their souls, in the air they breathe.

As the final note fades out, both musicians stay in their places, savoring the feel of perfection at its fullest, but feeling empty… so empty.

Because the fullness that was there, created by music, is now gone.

"That was good," Hiro says quietly into the near-silence of the studio.

"Yeah," Suguru responds, trying to call up that feeling again—that wonderful blood-rushing, beauty-inspiring feeling.

"Think Shuichi can make lyrics for it?" asks Hiro.

"I don't think so." But he really means, I hope not. Words would ruin it.

"Me neither. It's probably too slow." Meaning, You're right.

Suguru clears his throat and nods.

And then they begin again.
