Killer

They're dead. All of them…

Her eyes widened as she gaped at the town below her. Most buildings were crumbling, some on fire; others weren't even there anymore. And there were copses, everywhere, as far as the eye could see, dead bodies. You could tell there was no life in this town anymore. The only life left was herself, and him.

She laid her eyes on the boy in front of her, his body bruised and bashed just like hers although anyone could see that her injuries were far more fatal. His eyes- crimson, like the blood marring his face- showed no emotion, no concern for the dying city below. Not even for state of his dying body. Just the insane thrill from fighting, reflecting the cruel, crooked smirk on his face. She felt hot tears fall down her cheeks.

"You don't care at all." She stated, voice choking on bile she refused to let out. "Their dead somewhere out there, your brothers, my sisters, and you don't even care." The pitch of her voice rose higher than usual, unshed tears blurring her already poor eyesight. His smirk grew as he burst out in hysterical laughter.

"You're right" he sneered "I don't care" He flew closer -slower than usual, obviously an aftereffect from the severe blood loss. "I'm Brick- I'm a killer, nothing else matters. Friends, family, it's all crap. I was created for one thing, see?" he staggered a bit in mid air, voice hitching a bit on laughter "I've got to kill you. And after that, you know what's gonna happen?" he asked. She flew back as he kept approaching her. She shook her head.

"I-I don't."

"I'm free." He explained. Blossom backed up against a building. No longer able to move backwards, the two were close enough to feel each other's harshly drawn out breath. It didn't last long as Brick punched Blossom into the crumbling tower behind her.

He was going to win. She knew that, she'd known it when he'd finished snapping the bones in her right arm and leg. She couldn't move, it hurt to breath, the entire right half of her was numb and the hit she'd taken to her head had left her eye sight fuzzy and a continuous ache at the base of her skull.

He staggered towards her pulling her up by her shoulder. His other hand yanked at her butchered red hair roughly, using as a lever to tilt her head up wards. His stony ruby eyes peered into her dull rosy irises.

"Hmm. You know what though, Blossom?" The only reaction from her was her shoulder stiffening under his grip "What makes my job so hard?" His voice dropped to a lower pitch, wavering greatly. "It's like they forgot to program something into us when we were created." He said, pushing her roughly against the wall. She gasped when she felt something pierce her lower back, coughing up blood and spit. "Don't fall in love with your prey." He let out a heartbroken laugh, filled with regret and morose as Blossoms body fell limp against him

Lifting her head towards him- revealing her bloodless face and white eyes- he pressed his lips on hers, tasting the coppery liquid that stained her face. He let go of her, setting her on the floor. Her body leaned against the wall as he brushed the hair from her lifeless face.

"What to do now. I'm alone" he asked himself quietly before the roof out above him, engulfing both their bodies in broken glass and heavy cement.

If I die, I'll take you with me; no matter what.

Neo: I edited it a lot, if you're wondering…
