When Rory walked into Chilton Monday Morning it was unusually quiet.

Not a good kind of quiet either. A grim kind of quiet.

The kind where you know the news is going to be bad.

At the moment Rory just wanted to run out of the school.

Because she knew whatever it was that was going on was probably going to affect her.

She saw a few girls in front of a locker holding eachother and crying.

Rory was starting to get nervous, what was up with everybody?

Everybody had just gotten back from thanksgiving break.

Sure they were suppose to be sad, but not this sad.

When she got to her locker, Tristan was standing in front of it with an unreadable expression.

He had a cut above his eyebrow and what looked to be a black eye.

"What happened, Tristan?' Rory asked him taking in his injured face.

"He's gone, Rory. Gone. I'm so sorry", Tristan said tears coming to his eyes.

"Whose gone tristan", Rory asked frantically.

"Cameron", Tristan whispered.

"No! No!", Rory whispered beginning to cry.

Tristan reached for Rory but she pushed him away and ran the other direction.

She didn't know where to run. So she kept going. When she got to the courtyard, she begin to search for Cameron. This had to be some cruel joke. He couldn't be gone. He was her best friend. The only friend she really had at Chilton.

When she didn't find him, she collapsed on the ground.

She lay there sobbing for what seemed like hours.
