This is just a one-shot that popped into my head. R&R!

Robin sat up in the living room of the Titan Tower. It was well past midnight, and he was the only one awake.

Or so he thought.

He sat on the couch, thinking about things that confused him, like Starfire. Why was she always so complicated? Why did she find such simple things amusing? Why did she like him?

--

Starfire sat up on her bed, thinking about Robin. Why was he always thinking so hard? Why did he scoff at the little happy things that amused her so? Why did he make such an effort to teach her how to be human?

She stood up and crossed the floor to her door, and walked out into the hall. Maybe walking around the tower would clear her head.

--

Robin and Starfire had the same idea. To pace until dawn.

Starfire wrapped a blanket around her shoulders and walked towards the living room.

Robin walked toward the hall where Starfire waas walking.

They collided in the dark, but they didn't know it was each other.

"Who goes there?" Robin asked in a stern voice as Starfire's hands and eyes lit up green.

"Oh, it is just my friend, Robin," Starfire said quietly.

"Starfire, what are you doing up?" Robin asked.

"Thinking."

They walked to the living room and sat on the couch.

"About what?"

"Of how we can be friends, or more as we are, but be so different."

"I was thinking of that, too."

"Do you know the answer?"

"I guess, when you think about it, best friends don't have to be the same. Like Cyborg and Beast Boy."

"But we are more than best friends. When our lips touch, it is not a transfer of knowledge, like on my planet. It is a way to say 'I like you'."

Robin chuckled.

"What do you find so funny? Did I say something wrong?" she asked worried.

"No, it's just that, when we kiss, it's like saying 'I love you', at least for me," Robin said, smiling at a blushing Starfire.

"So you love me?"

"Yeah, Starfire. I do!"

"Oh, Robin!" Starfire said, hugging him tightly. "I love you, too!"

She sighed and put her head on his shoulder, sleepily.

"Star? Are you tired?"

"Yes, I am quite so. I think I shall be going to bed now. Good night, Robin."

She stood to walk back to her room, but Robin caught her wrist and spun her around.

"Starfire?"

"Yes, Robin?"

Robin kissed her on the lips. She responded by throwing her arms around his neck and deepening the kiss as his arms found their way around her waist.

She abruplty pulled away and released him.

"Good night, Robin. I love you, too."

"'Night, Starfire."

They went their separate ways and both of them fell asleep with no more trouble.
