- & When she closed her eyes, she was free.
Free from sin, free from the moon, free from darkness.
If she opened them now, it would be over.
She knew she was being watched. Even now, as she tried her best to move forward, Tooth could simply not ignore the chill running down her spine.
Toothiana was not a paranoid girl, in fact she was far from it. She would walk under ladders, play on the cracks in the street and watch mirrors shatter with a smile on her face and a giggle in the back of her throat. The young girl would even talk to strangers, loads of them, without a worry on who they were or what they had done.
And yet, tonight was simply not the case.
As she continued to march across town, the young woman ignored the sensation and instead focused on the bright cell phone that was in her hand. To be honest, she wasn't doing much with it. Ever since she had felt the odd feeling against her back, Tooth had simply dialed 911 and was ready to press call at any time. "But why would you do that Tooth?" With a sharp gasp, the petite girl turned around only to find that the area around her was completely empty. She swallowed quietly, unsure on what to do. "H-hello?" Her eyes darted around wildly trying to find the owner of the strange voice that she heard. "Is anyone there?" With a small frown, the female waited quietly, only to be responded with silence. Quietly, she bit her lip before turning back around. This time, she picked up the pace.
"Now, now. Are you afraid child?"
She knew she didn't imagine it that time.
This time, with a scowl on her face, Toothiana turned back around and snarled. "I'm not playing! If you don't show yourself, I'm going to call the cops!" Again, silence was her only response. She waited patiently, trying to keep on a brave face but there was no denying the fact that she was shaking. "It's just your imagination Toothie." She muttered underneath her breath, before turning around only this time she came face to face with a large black horse. At the sight, Tooth let out a quick yell and a few steps back, accidentally pressing herself against a strong chest. "Are you so sure of that?" Horrified, Toothiana whipped her head back and found the owner of the voice, alive and in the flesh. He shot her a sinister grin, revealing crooked yellow teeth. "What's the matter Too-thi-ana?" As gently as he could, he pressed his cold hand against her cheek causing her to shiver in disgust. Before Toothiana could move away, he moved his hand under her chin and squeezed her cheeks, bringing his face closer to her own. "There's," He muttered quietly and moved his lips to the tip of her nose. "no such thing as the bogeyman."
This time, she couldn't bite back her scream.
