Anger as soon as fed is dead --

'tis starving makes it fat.

Emily Dickinson

"Therein lies the defect of revenge: it's all in the anticipation; the thing itself is a pain, not a pleasure; at least the pain is the biggest end of it."

-Mark Twain

Prelude

Humans and vampires have always been enemies. Vampires murder our people and satiate their hunger with our blood. And humans have always had a hidden enmity against these stalkers of the night, though masked by fear. But recently this hatred is a secret no longer. For centuries now there has been the underground organization of humans who broke the silence. They are among the few elite who are trained specially in the art of alienating this damned race. Selected due to their bravery, courage, strength, and heart—these assassins roam the night waiting for the eternal damned to come out of their guarded lairs so they can give those vile bodies the ultimate gift of their existence—destruction. These assassins have no loyalty except to their leader—Craven—no love, no emotion, just pure lust for death and justice. I am one of those hungry souls. And I will not be appeased until every death caused by these sadistic creatures has been avenged.
