A/N: Spoilers for Tempus: This takes place right after the events in Tempus and involves Victorian Magnus and has slightly dark undertones. In the episode, Future Helen tells John to stay away, but what if the Magnus in the past is not ready to let go yet?

My muse has been stalking me ever since Tempus aired. I am also working on a longer piece that I hope to have up soon.

Author Rant: I refuse to believe that no matter what happened/happens between John and Helen that she could ever stop loving him.

Closing the door to her chambers, Helen leaned against it, closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She'd been in the lab, alone this time. James had said that he had to see an old friend and that he'd be by first thing in the morning. He'd have more time now that Spring Heeled Jack would be living in the Sanctuary instead of roaming the streets of Whitechapel repeating the murders of Jack the Ripper.

Moving to her wardrobe, Helen reached for the zipper of her dress and made quick work of divesting herself of her Victorian accoutrements, trading them for her favorite night gown. She looked in the mirror and removed the pins in her hair, letting it fall to her shoulders in blond waves. Oh how John had loved watching her remove the pins from her hair. He'd stand behind her and his face in her hair, his hands running the length of her arms until their fingers were entwined. That had been the way it had started the first time they'd made love. He'd wanted to wait, but she'd been insistent. Her body had craved his as much as her heart craved his love. And more than ten years later she wanted his touch and his heart. Sometimes she secretly wished he'd teleport into her room and make the decision for both of them. It would never be over between them…and she was fine with that. The heartbreak of his encounters was better than never encountering him at all.
