Chapter one

The drip drop of the rain pouring into the puddles around me could be heard as I walked the road alone. We had recently moved to Ponyville in search of a new better life. Just me and my mom, my dad had left us 2 years back. In Manehatten I had always been an outcast never had any friends or ponies to look up to, to say the least I was lonely.

I was always a good colt, did my chores, did my schoolwork, but yet when it came to magic I never did well. I remember the first time I did that heating spell in class I accidentally caught the teachers mane on fire. I was bad, so I use magic the least that I can. The constant bullying always put me down, being called blank flank, getting told that I would never find my special talent.

But here I am now walking home from school in Ponyville, I talked so little in class as I was afraid of attracting attention thus getting me bullied again. The Teacher recommended me to this unicorn called Twilight Sparkle, she said I could find her at Golden Oak Library. I guess I have nothing to loose by going to see here this weekend.

I closed the door to our house as I shook all of the rain water of my coat. "Sweetie is that you," my mom shouted from the kitchen.

"Yeah mom its me," I replied cheerfully heading into the kitchen and taking my seat at the table. My mom had a dull pink coat and a short rosy red mane. Her name was Rose Blossom and I loved her more than anything in the world. She had a rose as her cutie mark, and her ability to use magic blew my mind everyday. I saw her lift a boulder once that was five times her size.

"I made spaghetti, your favorite," she replies with a smile that warms my heart as she hands me the plate.

"Thanks mom, I really appreciate it," I say starting to stuff myself with spaghetti. Dad use to make the best spaghetti ever.

" Anything for my little boy," she replies stepping back to get herself some.

"I'm not little mom I'm ten years old," I said with a sigh. I had a dark blue coat, with red mane…. Just like mothers. I was a little taller than most colts my age but I really didn't care much. After dinner I climbed into bed to get some sleep, I sleep early so I can get up early and have plenty to do with my day.

"He is powerful indeed" a scratchy voice said from the darkness. "He'll learn in time, all in time". The figure peering through the window flew off into the night.
