AN: Holy hell! I'm writing a Harry Potter fic again! Lol. So I had this idea before DH came out, but I couldn't get it written in time. Anyway, hope you like and hope it doesn't suck too much. I've been away from HP fics for a little too long.
"Give him an order," said Dumbldore. "If he has passed into your ownership, he will have to obey. If not, then we shall have to think of some other means of keeping him from his rightful mistress."
"Won't, won't, WON'T!"
Kreacher's voice had risen to a scream. Harry could think of nothing to say, except, "Kreacher, shut up!"
There was a coughing, spluttering sound as Kreacher's eyes widened momentarily. A second later a wide grin spread across Kreacher's face as he screamed again, "Won't!"
Harry's head whipped around to face Dumbledore and shouted over Kreacher's screeches, "What does this mean, Sir?"
"It means," said Dumbledore, slowly, "that we will have to switch headquarters."
"So I'm not Sirius' heir?" Asked Harry, confused. "But I thought you said he'd left everything to me in his will."
"There is a loophole," said Dumbledore thoughtfully.
"A loophole?"
"A loophole." Dumbledore nodded. "If Sirius had a living blood heir it would trump his will. Kreacher? Can you please tell me who your rightful master is?"
Kreacher glared up at Dumbledore from his spot on the floor for a few moments, his screams halting. "Kreacher does not have to tell you."
"No, you do not," said Dumbledore. "But I would very much appreciate it if you did."
Dumbledore looked at him expectantly while Harry cried, "Well?"
Kreacher narrowed his great, big eyes. "Kreacher advises the blood-traitors to see to his mistresses' tapestry. There they will find their answers."
And with a snap of his finger, he was gone.
Not long after, Harry and Dumbledore stumbled into Grimmauld Place. They quickly headed to the room housing the families tapestry and followed the golden threads until their eyes met with the scorch mark that had been Sirius' name.
Harry took a step back, frowning. "I don't understand."
"It may be charmed," said Dumbledore, staring at the tapestry intently.
And then, with a flick of his wand, the tapestry began realigning itself. The golden threads shook and wiggled as they moved from one name to another. When the shifting finally came to a stop, Harry's jaw had dropped and even Dumbledore looked surprised.
"This can't be right," whispered Harry. He turned to Dumbledore. "Sir, this is a mistake. Right?"
"No Harry," said Dumbledore, softly. "No, I do not think so."
"But..." Harry wiped his forehead with the back of his hand. "But this can't be right. Sirius would never..."
"It is surprising," amended Dumbledore. "I honestly never suspected anything like this."
(15 years earlier)
"Honestly Cissy, how do you get yourself into these messes?" Asked Bellatrix as she shook her head. "What were you thinking? Why weren't you more careful?"
Narcissa took a deep breath to keep her tears in check.
"Oh Cis," said Bella quietly. She wrapped her arm around her sister's shuddering shoulders. "We'll Confund it."
"Will that work?"
"I'm sure it will," said Bellatrix with a sigh. "Or we could-"
"I just can't believe this is happening."
"We'll work it out," Bellatrix said comfortingly.
"I love my husband," Narcissa said suddenly, her voice breaking. "I do."
"I know." Bellatrix sadly gazed at the lines connecting Narcissa and Sirius to baby Draco. "You just love Sirius more."
