Puella Magi Madoka Magica

Verae Amicitiae Sempiternae Sunt

Author Comments: First off, I'd like to say I'm glad to finally get back to writing. I deleted all of my old stories, but for those who liked them, don't worry, they'll be getting rewritten in the near future. I have a lot of homework and musical activities lately, so updates may be slow. This time, however, I'm going to stick with this. I really miss writing. So, to get started off, here's a different Madoka Magica fanfic. I felt doing a Kyoko x Mami fanfic. Enjoy! (Rating to change in later chapters) I'd also like to say, this is the shortest chapter I'll ever have. Ehehehe~

'Protect the one thing you want to protect until the end'-Kyoko Sakura

"Tomoe Mami," the words rolled off my tongue in an unintentional mocking tone "do you really think you can make friends with the people who threaten your existence?" I watched her usual warm smile quiver to a thin line. She opened her mouth almost hesitantly:

"... I believe you can find friendship even in the darkest situations, Sakura-san." I couldn't help smirk at her politeness, and I decided to humour her.

"Do you think we could be friends, Tomoe Mami?"

"I think we could."

"I doubt that. There's not enough grief seeds for all these magical girls that keep popping up all over the place." That's five, five in one city. "Why can't they make choices where they won't end up threatening our pathetic lives? I don't like my position, but I'm not giving it up just yet." I smiled cheekily at the third year and walked away without a glance back."

"Sakura-san, I think we could still be friends."

-Chapter One-

Author Comments: This is a flash back, just wanted to make it clear. Last of the author comments for this chapter!

Tomoe Mami sat in the garden, I watched her daintily pick the deep purple roses from the lush garden bed. Her pale fingers wrapping around the dangerous stem, despite the thorns that embedded themselves in her flesh. Watching from the church window became a bit of a difficulty for me, the stained glass was getting in the way of the colours. I wandered outside, seemingly uninterested in what the blond was doing. Well, I thought I put on the 'I don't care what you're doing' face, but Mami thought otherwise.

"Tomoe Mami, why are you picking roses with your bare hands?" I sighed, exasperated. Her hands were covered in slight scratches and cuts.

"Because the roses are pretty... Would you like one?" She reached up to me, extending her arm, the rose suspended above my nose.

"Why are you offering that to me?" I said with disgust, this girl wasn't allowed to come around here anymore, I had already told her that. "You told me that my wish was foolish, and that I should hurry up and move on. Kill witches for good. You think I'm going to do that, when no one is doing anything for me? What about you? Why should you care, your parents are dead and you have no friends. You have nothing to live for." The third year looked a little upset at my comment, she seemed to have a sudden interest in the damp ground.

"I thought you were my friend."

"Like hell."
