Disclaimer: I do not own anything that is recognizable to Skyrim. I only own the basic plot idea and original characters.

Summary: It has been seven years since Jarl Balgryff's wife died giving birth to his daughter. His nobles are now pressuring him to marry again in the midst of the war against the Stormcloaks for the sake of his family line. Chapter One: Riverwood calls for Aid

For the Whiterun guards on duty that morning, their watch would be called anything but normal. For riding up the road on a pure white mare, as though the wild hunt of Hircine was in pursuit, was an Imperial woman with flaming red hair wearing exquisitely crafted ebony armor and a silver circlet with emeralds green as her eyes. Though unlucky for the unknowing woman, the city was on lock down due to the dragon attack on Helgan not 4 days ago. Upon the woman reaching the imposing gates of wood and steel, the guard on her left approached her. "My apologies, citizen. The gates are closed, official business only." Not wanting to be hindered on her mission any longer, the Imperial dismounted her horse and declared "Riverwood calls for aid!" The guards, immediately understanding her words, took her horse and granted her entrance to the city. Once inside the small yet sprawling city of stone and wood buildings, the Imperial ran as fast as she could past the many people and shops to reach her chosen destination of Dragon's Reach. Once entering the dragon carved doors of the reach, the fire-haired woman was met at sword point by the Jarl's Housecarl...

A.N. Sorry for the cliffhanger but I had too lol. =) Also sorry that this chapter is so short but I promise to write longer ones once I get feed back. Please review; I would love feedback on the story. Please don't flame too much, this is my first fan fiction. Otherwise I'll have to send Sheograth after you. And who would want an angry God of Madness after them? Muwahahahahahaha =)
