Note: Written for Dknightshade, who asked for a story wherein Scully rolls her eyes.
He was staring at her with the intensity he usually saved for E.T.'s and porn magazines. "What?" Scully asked irritatedly.
"I heard the strangest thing today," Mulder said.
Scully folded her hands, leaning her elbows on her desk blotter. "And?"
He laughed shortly, glancing down at the file in front of him. "And it's crazy." Mulder shook his head. "Completely unbelieveable."
She arched an eyebrow in disbelief. "Completely?"
Mulder pursed his lips, saying to the file, "Absolutely completely unbelieveable."
"What is it on the improbability scale?"
"Beg pardon?" Mulder squinted at her, reminding her of a mole dragged out into sunlight.
"Well," Scully said, "on a scale of improbability, with one end being the likelihood of A.D. Skinner showing up at work in a tutu and the other being, oh, I don't know, me going out with Frohike - "
"Aha!" Mulder jumped to his feet, pointing. "You admit you're going out with Frohike!" A pause, his triumphant expression melting like wax into one of puzzlement. "Why are you going out with Frohike?"
Scully rolled her eyes, sucking on the inside of her cheek. Pushing her chair back, she packed her briefcase.
"Scully?" Mulder asked. "Scully, are you going to answer me?"
"Well, Mulder," she said, locking her desk, "for one thing," she walked to the door and paused within the opening, "he asked." Wiggling her fingers at him, she added, "Don't wait up," and pulled the door to.
