Deaths Counterpart

Alone in the darkness stabbing thoughts through my head

Wasting away on fragments of the words you never said

Killing time to drown the dreams we held so close to heart

Disregarding Love; Death's Counterpart.

His body like a painting holds the lies on his lips

He leaves them in the open, waiting, watching you slip

Still misperceived by eyes of the interpreter

He smiles, and lets us all fall.

His ideology resides in blood

Taking from the weary, and he'll never get enough

Drinking souls like wine, and a taste for flesh

But once he's sucked the world dry, we're all laid to rest.

Six feet deep in memories that wrap their fingers around my throat

They bare their glass-stained teeth and leave me again alone

Standing alone in the darkness with the Banshee's Kiss

I begin to understand, I am truly...
