Summary: Dragon killer.
Author's Notes: For Neofox; theme of "scarlet ribbons."

The sky is as white as freshly-bitten fingernails.

Freya's feet grip the ground as if gravity might abandon her at any given moment -- others certainly have. Tilting her nose into the crisp rush of winterair ( no sand or storms here ), she glares death at the beast before her and knows the look will kill. Spear levelled, chest tight with adrenaline, the dragon knight needs but a moment to spark a deathshower.

Its eyes are as cold and grey as ruined stonewalls, cleaved helms, toppled towers, and rat-tails in the rain.

With a lithe lunge towards the damned creature, she's skewered its forepaw ( green like moss on the moors ), claws spread and maw snarling. Half-breathed air escapes her lungs when its retalliation strikes: spiny scales to her side, ribcage aching.

Scruffy grass is rough beneath her palm, and soon she's coughing beneath the reptile's. Gasping for alleviation, her struggling only worsens the situation. Lance left lodged in its grasp, the creature cruelly cuts her back open with her own trusted weapon. Freya is torn by both metal and a matter of honour -- shriek in pain, bear it in silence? -- and feels blood soaking her fur.

Its daggerdigits shred through the fabric of her overcoat and split her skin to red ribbons rivalling her ruined jacket. Her vision's out-of-focus, mimicking mist on mirrors. can't see can't think can't breathe--

slice.
