Author's Note: Why hello there. This is my first attempt at a story in a while. I'm suffered from ppsd(post potter stress disorder) and felt the need to bring it back into my life. And it might also have something to do with the fact that I don't want to do my ap work. So leave me any suggestions you may have and let me know if I should keep going with this. And obvi I don't own Harry Potter or any of the character. I am not as brilliant and J.K. Rowling. She is a goddess

Lily Luna Potter sat at her desk on the night of August 31st. Tomorrow she would be boarding the Hogwarts Express, just as her parents had many years ago. She was quite nervous. She had heard terrible stories about the sorting hat not putting first years into the right houses. Both of her parents and even Uncle Ron and Auntie Hermione had been in Gryffindor. What if she was the first one to be place in a different house?
Lily had always felt a little bit different than the rest of her family. She never felt as brave as everyone else. At family dinners, her mom and dad and Uncle Ron and Aunt Hermione would talk about all the scary things they went through when they went to Hogwarts. Lily always found herself thinking that if she had been put into any of those positions she found have broken down and cried.
Sometimes she wished she wasn't a Potter. Of course, she loved her family and it wasn't that she wanted nothing to do with them. She just didn't like the attention it got her. She was always told that she looked just like her grandmother, whom she was named after. The elder Lily Potter was known for her green eyes, red hair, and exceptional ability for charms. Lily knew that she definitely looked like her grandmother but was worried about not living up to her name. What if she was awful at charms and couldn't even levitate a feather?
She knew she was getting ahead of herself. She looked around the pictures racing around in their frames. The faces were the ones she had grown up with: Grandma Molly and Grandpa Arthur and all of her aunts and uncles and cousins. She knew she had a support system of family at Hogwarts and was appreciative of that.
Her mother called her down for dinner.
"Coming, Mom!" Lily yelled down the stairs. She turned around to look at the pictures one more time before going downstairs and smiled.
