A/N: A one-shot I came up with after seeing Simon Baker's BTS pictures in Paris... of him shooting that Givenchy ad... holy mother of balls. Also, the ones with the woman on the bike with him reminded me of that scene in TCH where Jane teases Lisbon about the handlebars... yeah, this story was born! And honestly, I don't know why I chose this title. ALSO I didn't proofread it, so there might be typos in this.

'Mighty fortress'
"A bike?" she exclaimed, flabbergasted. She was ready to hit him against the head with a baseball bat. "What the hell?"
He simply smiled. She knew she wouldn't get an explanation.
"Hop on." He extended his arm. She had to admit that it started to look very tempting.
"We might fall and break something."
"In that case, you have successfully proved me wrong and we'll never do this again." He made a waving movement with his hand again. "Trust me, Teresa. I would never hurt you deliberately."
She looked him in the eye and found he wasn't kidding. She sighed and walked over to him. His arm closed around her shoulder and he steadied her as she went on tiptoes and sat on the frame.
She had never done this before. She could trust Jane, she knew she could. She had put her life into his hands countless of times without even thinking about it twice. But for some reason, this was different. She couldn't put her finger on it. Perhaps it had to do with the fact that these previous times she'd had no choice. Red John had been a constant threat in their lives and she knew she had to give control to Jane sometimes so that he could finish it.
"Lean back against me," he whispered in her ear, making her shudder with their proximity. She did as he told her, her back resting against his chest. In this moment, she felt safer than she'd ever had.
"I've never done this before," she whispered, her voice annoyingly low. She coughed but didn't repeat.
"I know. You're doing really well."
"We're not even driving yet, Jane."
He chuckled. He put his hand on her waist briefly.
"Just put your right hand in the middle of the handlebars, like this," he said, taking her hand and putting it where it was supposed to be. His fingers brushed hers a bit too long for her liking. "I'll do all the rest. Just trust me on this."
She nodded and balanced herself on the frame, her upper body partly leaning on the handlebars and partly against his chest. He took a few steps to gain some speed and before she knew it, they were driving down the road full speed. Her hair was brushed back by the wind and it must be flying into Jane's face. She turned her head to face him.
He was simply smiling and concentrating on delivering them safely to the spot he had chosen for their picnic. She sighed happily and looked in front of her again.
After a few minutes, he was used to the inconsistencies in the road and managed to drop a butterfly kiss to her shoulder. She chuckled but didn't dare to move more, afraid they would fall over.
"I love you," she whispered. The handlebars jerked a bit but he steadied the bike fast. He kissed her shoulder again but this time kept his lips there.
"I love you, too, my sweet Teresa."
A/N: Let me know!
