Titanic
She stared out the window of her mother's luxery car, wondering why.
Why? why can't I feel free like the other's my age? Why must I be restricted to my mannerisms and...corsets? She smirked as she thought this and turned to her mother. She looked at her for a moment and watched the way she sat so perfectly straight you could put a board to her back and not tell the difference. She watched the way her mother turned up her nose and sniffed at the people walking down the street, thinking about how much higher she was than them. She wondered what it would be like to be normal. If that was even the right word to use...she was a normal human being after all. But she wished that just once she didn't have to worry about what everybody else thought of her. She wished that she could be "footloose and fancy free" as the old saying goes. She wished-
"Alexandra! sit up straight! and for goodness sake smooth the wrinkled out of your dress! you look a fright." Alexandra was jerked out of her why's and wonder's by her mother's harsh voice. "I'm sorry, momma." She quickly composed herself and continued her musing, in a more lady-like fashion.

"Alexandra, on this trip I would like you to be watching for potential suitors. You know that we're in a predicament with finances .I want you to be a complete lady; not an immature child. Do you understand?"
"Yes momma. I understand." Is that the only thing you think of!? Suitors with money?! What happens if I want to marry for love and not riches? Will you force me? All these thoughts and more were racing through Alexandra's mind as they stepped out of the car and onto the dock of the grand ship Titanic. Alex (for that is what she liked to be called) had heard rumors that this was the grandest ship ever built in history recorded. She wasn't quite sure if that was true or not, but it certainly boasted length and height. She was wondering (as she often did) to herself how in the world she was going to find her way around such a huge ship. She was certainly not going to go to the bathroom by herself, as she was sure she would get lost on the way there. "Alexandra! get your head out of the clouds and follow me," her mother hissed into her ear. She jumped slightly and looked around a bit confused. As she was thinking to herself, she had managed to already wander away from her mother, and found herself where the third class was being held. She quickly caught up to her mother and handed her bags to the man that was taking her mum's.
Somehow she knew she was in for a grand adventure.
