Hey guy's, sorry it's been so long I've been getting things ready for a trip over the fourth so yeah. I swear both my brothers strategically planned to come to town at the same time. I decided to write a HTTYD one where they're all thinking back to their lives with Stoick. so yay!
Gobber
I was in the forge helping Valka remove the armor off of all the dragons from Drago's army when I looked over at the statue. The statue that stood as proud and strong as the person immortalized by it. My best friend.
There are many a days that I come into the forge and expect to see him already working on the saddles, expect a "Goodmorning Gobber, sleep in?" and a laugh. But I know it's all in my head.
I think back to our younger days, the days when me, him, Valka, Spitelout, and all our other friends would run around the village causing mayhem. And then I look at his son, and all of our friends' children all riding their dragons and laughing.
Who woulda thought that friendship goes more than one lifetime. I watch Hiccup as he fly's around and tries to impress Astrid and watch as she just does some other trick causing them all to laugh at the poor boy.
I look at Hiccup and don't see the Chief that the rest of the clan does. I see a boy who lost his father goofing off with friends. I look at him and still see the wee lad he was, the scrawny little viking who was often discarded by his own people and called Useless. But I also see what his father saw in him.
I see a strong young man, a man who was able to change someone who was not open to change. A man who doesn't know it yet, but has a whole family to back him up in all his choices.
I see Stoick in him, a brave, selfless man who's loyal to all of his clan. I smile to myself. Vast is more than just a name, eh Stoick?
Yay, so first chapter was Gobbers memories! anyway I'm thinking of making this go farther than just their memories of Stoick, I'm thinking of showing how much of Stoick is actually in Hiccup. Let me know if that's what you want me to do.
Bye, bye.
