He was cold.
So, so cold.
Alex was always quite susceptible to illness, and today was no exception.
All Time Low had just finished a show outdoors, in the middle of winter.
Who's bright idea was that?
Currently he was curled up on the bunk couch, heat blasting, covered in two blankets, and he was still cold.
The television played quietly in the background, just loud enough to drown out the sound of his teeth chattering.
The rest of the band and the crew had gone out for drinks, but he wasn't feeling quite up to it, so he had stayed behind in the bus, hoping some rest would fix everything.
But no, he just felt worse.
He was just starting to drift off to sleep when the door to the bug swung open with a loud bang, and someone cursed under their breath.
Quiet footsteps pattered up the stairs, and a slender boy with skunk hair poked his head around the corner, looking relieved when he saw that Alex was up.
That look quickly faded when he noticed the pale color of his friends cheeks, and the excessive blankets.
"Hey man, I just wanted to make sure you were alright.." said Jack, walking around the corner and into the lounge of the bus where Alex was curled up.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks for checking" replied Alex, pulling the blankets tighter around his shoulders.
"Obviously not. Can I get you anything?"
"I'm just... Cold. And tired. There is nothing you can do about that."
The problem about sleep, was that Alex had terrible nightmares. Jack was the only band member that knew, and he tried his best to help his friend, but there was only so much he could do.
"I can't help with the tired part, but I can help with the cold" he said walking over, and gently pulling back the blankets.
Alex made a small noise of protest, but didn't fight the skinny boy.
As Jack sat down next to him, and he could immediately feel the heat radiating off him, and when their sides came into contact, a pleasant, warm feeling spread across his body. Jack pulled the covers back around them, and tried to make himself comfortable without being too close to the other boy, but his attempts were shot down as the brown haired boy inches closer, and laid his head down on Jack's shoulder.
"This ok?" He asked quietly.
"Yeah" said Jack, a smile present on his face. " Yeah it's good"
