I See Stars
I see stars.
Stars? Are you sure?
Yes.
They are like glowing drops of heaven's water,
Like diamonds,
Twinkling eyes,
Dropped by the moon's own hand, while angels brought her.
Or like a rash, it covers the sky's face
Without it there is not an empty space,
They aren't stars - they don't exist at all
And looking at the sky you don't feel small.
Yes, there were stars before above our world,
And somewhere they still are, dazzling but cold.
I see flowers.
Flowers? Are you sure?
Yes.
Still beautiful, even after all these years
A burst of color,
Fragrant air,
Their gentle whispers fairies only hear.
But really, after all these years
The flowers, they have turned to tears
They are a virus eating at our brains
Where an illusion of beauty still remains.
Yes, there were flowers in our world before,
But just like dinosaurs, they don't exist no more.
I see children.
Children? Are you sure?
Yes.
They're playing in a park of sunlit trees,
Their voices,
Laughter,
Like happiness are carried by the breeze.
They're figments of your wild imagination
The sound of laughter is your mind's creation
They are but slaves; their fate's to live and die
Without real sunlight, love, or even opening an eye.
Yes, their oblivion is bliss, but they're not free
Though some of them, and others after, those might be.
If I've mistaken all my life,
Never felt love, or hate, or strife,
What am I called?!
A product of a horrid war?
But tell me then, why did you make that choice?
Didn't you hear God's booming, warning voice,
When Red and Blue took on the meaning they never had before?
You know I fight for hope,
And love,
And all things lost.
No matter what the cost,
We'll bring the freedom back.
But what is freedom?
Is it what you really want?
This
freedom? It is the truth. We fight for truth,
However brutal.
One thing unites us - we cannot
Live in a lie as slaves of thought.
