A/N: This is another human transformers thingy. Inspiration from The Last Knight trailer 1 and the TV spot.
Cade Yeager walked outside and looked around for Optimus. Since the incident with Cybertron and the space bride at Stonehenge, things had been quiet for the Yeager family. Tessa usually called to check up on everyone from time to time wich Cade was grateful for. He found Optimus sitting on top of an old broken car and weaved through the auto parts lying around the junkyard. "Hi," he said quietly and the Autobot looked at him.
"Cade," Optimus murmured. "What are you doing here?"
"I was looking for you," the inventor replied and smiled slightly. "Can we talk for a bit?" Optimus was silent for a moment and sighed before pushing back a strand of hair from his eyes.
"Why?"
"You've been isolating yourself from everyone else. You don't have to do that you know." Cade climbed up the car and sat next to him who scooted away from him. "Why haven't you been talking to anyone lately?"
"You know very well why I don't talk to anyone," Optimus said. His blue eyes were filled with regret and sorrow as he said this. "Did you forget?"
"No, I haven't. But I won't shut you out if you want to talk."
"I don't want to talk to you," Optimus said with a hint of bitterness in his voice. He turned his head away from the inventor and looked at the setting sun. Cade sighed and began braiding his friend's long hair. "Stop it Cade."
"Just talk to me for once."
"I said stop."
"Please-" Cade ddidn't finish his sentence because Optimus silenced him with a death glare and for a few seconds, his eyes were purple before returning to their normal blue. "Optimus," he said quietly. "I can help you."
"I don't need your help," Optimus replied coldly and slid off the car. He began walking away but Cade stopped him.
"I forgive you." The knight paused and looked at his friend in remorse.
"I know you're simply saying that because you want to make me feel better."
"No, I really mean it," Cade responded and stood next to him. "I forgive you."
"Why? Why are you so nice to me? I could've killed you..."
"But you didn't. You protected me which is why I forgive you." He pushed back a loose strand of hair from his friend's face and smiled. "You're my very best friend and I don't care if you tried to kill me. I still forgive you."
"I betrayed you. I almost destroyed Earth..."
"I know." Optimus looked at him in disbelief before walking away from him. "Can I ask you a question?"
"Yes, Cade," Optimus replied and stopped to look at him.
"When will you be able to forgive yourself?" There was silence for a moment before Optimus replied.
"I won't." Pain stabbed at Cade's heart as he watched his friend leave. If he wasn't going to forgive himself, would he ever forgive anyone else for their mistakes?
