I used to like C-sec. I put up with the red-tape, telling myself that I was helping people But the final straw was a hostage-situation... You'll see what I mean. If you don't, at least try. I'm Rey, a Salarian. I'm one of the few Salarian C-sec officers, the other C-sec Salarian retiring shortly after I joined. A few months ago, there was a human L2 that just snapped.

I was told-no, ordered-to not even try to help them. They said it was too dangerous, that we should just wait out the L2. I could've helped them! Salarians have photographic memories, a gift, but mostly a curse. I never forget the faces of the hostages as the L2 killed them one-by-one, the last survivor a little human girl. Her mother had screamed at the L2, begging him to not kill her.

"I quit! I won't waste my life working form a system that doesn't work!" I yelled at Executor Palin.

"I can't say I didn't see this coming. According to reports, you've been...distant. Will you, at least, give us a two-week resignation?" Executor Palin asked.

"Shove that two-week resignation where your red-tape should be." I said, walking away.
