A/N: The characters don't belong to me. The plot is up to date with chapter 343 of the manga and I didn't consider the anime. The title is taken from a song of the band Kansas. The lyrics at the end are from that song as well. Please read and review.
Dust in the wind
It has been quite a feat, now that I think about it – for a girl with pink hair and a name like Sakura to become a ninja. Even if my days did consist of pretty unfitting patterns. Scream, swoon, complain, big forehead, petty rivalry, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to annoy you, Sasuke.
And the flowers, always the flowers. I've turned out a lot like Tsunade, they say; not in terms of looks, though. I never did become a Cosmos.
Naruto-kun knew, but he didn't seem to care. Not about looks, not about Hinata-chan.
Naruto-kun went after his farther; not in terms of becoming Hokage, though.
And Sasuke. Sasuke must've been surprised when he tried to kill Orochimaru. Couldn't handle his power. Couldn't handle his curse. Orochimaru must've been surprised, too, when his mind couldn't handle Sasuke.
In the end, Orochimaru didn't kill Naruto. Sasuke did.
Loosing at gambling isn't all that bad. Maybe, mixed with a bit of sake, it will help me forget what else I've lost – ne, Shizune-san?
When I close my eyes
only for a moment and
the moment's gone
all my dreams
pass before my eyes in
curiosity
dust in the wind
all we are is dust in the wind
Same
old song
just a drop of water in an endless sea
all we
do
crumbles to the ground though we refuse to see
dust in the
wind
all we are is dust in the wind
Now don't hang
on
nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky
it slips
away
and all your money won't another minute buy
dust in the
wind
all we are is dust in the wind
