Sometimes, they all wondered about him.
His eyes, which normally were widened in idiotic curiosity, didn't seem intelligent upon first glance. And yet, with one glance, with one sweep of his pupils, he immediately set his sights upon someone – something – that he needed, that he knew he had to do.
Whether it was his new crewmate or the enemy he had to fight, he could seek it out and find it without any distractions or hindrances; and God forbid either of them appear in front of him, for if they did he would immediately blow them away.
Yet these were the same eyes that, when firing a cannon, shot the ball fifty feet away from the target. The eyes that weren't patient enough to even skim through a book. The eyes that couldn't even seek the smallest detail.
Those same eyes were the eyes that could see the most important things, that sought them out, that saw strength and decency where no one else had.
And most of all, these were the same eyes that were ever fixated on that man, and that goal – those eyes that constantly looked ahead, never faltering, never wavering, never giving into the fear that opponents would try to drive into them.
They had been sought out by those eyes – those childish, idiotic, yet unwavering and determined eyes.
So whenever they doubted him, or wondered about leaving their past behind to go with him, they just looked as his eyes.
There was nothing more reassuring.
End
Hmm. This was... interesting. Not sure if I got across what I really wanted to in the fic, but I think it turned out alright. This was inspired, in part, by the fact that, browsing through the fanfic section, half the fics were Luffy yaoi, which disturbs me for some reason.
That said, I've been thinking about this a while anyway...
Read and Review plz? :D
