"Shoo."
The seagull stared back, unfazed by the boy's attempts to scare him away. Instead, the bird ruffled his feathers indignantly, taking a bold step forward towards the park table.
Genesis narrowed his eyes, guarding his steaming cup of freshly cooked hot chips with caution as he stared down the annoying little bird insistent on sharing his meal.
The annoying little bird who had just taken flight to the table, now inches away from his precious lunch.
That devious little creature…
Ever so slowly the redhead inched his cup backwards, guarding it with one hand while the other shoved a chip into his mouth.
The seagull squawked with apparent resentfulness, spreading his long wings outwards in an attempt to intimidate the human into giving up a chip or two.
Genesis let a growl escape his lips. If things kept going this way…
"-hey!"
In that moment where he was distracted, that shifty seagull had jabbed his beak forward and snagged a fry, letting out a triumphant screech muffled through the hot potato.
"Genesis! What're you doing?"
"Angeaaalll!" the redhead howled, pleading, "it's these stupid birds!"
Angeal trotted up to his park bench, setting down his milkshake. "You do know there's a sign."
"For what?" Genesis blinked.
"'Don't feed the birds,'", Angeal recited, taking a sip of his drink.
By now the seagull looked deceptively innocent, acting as if he had been willingly fed by Genesis himself. The chip had dropped from his beak and now the bird was cautiously pecking at it, seemingly timid of the humans surrounding him.
The Banora youth was speechless. "But- but- that thing stole one!"
"Are you kidding me, Gen?" Angeal chuckled, sitting down. "You treat the poor bird like it actually behaves like we do. It's not exactly a sentient being."
Genesis glared with meaning at his friend, and then back at the seagull, who was happily gobbling the last remnants of the chip.
Pausing, the seagull stared at him, cocking his small head to the side.
The young redhead could have sworn that thing had winked.
A/N: CHARLIE, WE HAVE A PROBLEM! SEAAGGULLLSS! XD;
Uhm. Yeah. This was inspired by the cover image I made for my doujinshi/manga 'HERO', which illustrates my previous one-shot underneath that name.
It had seagulls on it.
Because Banora is next to the ocean, hence, seagulls. =D
But yes. Gen and Angeal are in town, maybe at Mideel or something, near Banora in front of a beach, near a fish and chip shop. With seagulls.
END. XD
Oh yeah, and disclaimer at the end this time: Genesis Rhapsodos and Angeal Hewley belong to Square Enix.
I own that devious little seagull.
