Easy

It would be easy, but Matsumoto was a good fukutaichō. She obeyed the orders she was given, no matter how hard they were to follow.

Only HitsuMastu if you squint and hold this in a certain way, Otherwise, it's just about devotion to one's captain.

It would be very easy, Matsumoto Rangiku thought, to simply sit there are not move. To stay still until the pain left her and the nothingness set in. She wasn't sure why she was in pain or sitting down, exactly, but she supposed that they both had reasons for being there.

Haineko rested in her hands as she watched the action through dimmed vision, several members of the 10th Division fighting the Hollows that surged out into Soul Society. Her blade was oddly quiet for once; the soft hissing of her zanpakutō's voice was gone, perhaps as Haineko sensed how tired she was.

She closed her eyes, hearing the screech of the Hollows as they were dispatched and decided to enjoy the rest while she could – before Hitsugaya-taichō came and told her off for being lazy again.

She opened her eyes again as the whisper of Hyōrinmaru's sennen hyōrō froze all the Hollows and then faded away, simply leaving water of the forest floor and nothing else. She stared up at him as he approached, initially intending to make a wise-crack as she noticed how much taller he had grown, but the look in his eyes stopped her before she had even begun to speak.

"Is something wrong, taichō?" She asked, wondering at why her captain's teal eyes were unusually bright, and pale eyelashes flickered rapidly every so often to banish moisture from them. Was he crying?

"Matsumoto, you-" He broke off to tell a nearby recruit to get a member of the 4th Division. Was somebody injured?

She looked down and noticed for the first time the slice across her chest that was dripping blood on her uniform and the ground below her "Oh" She was. Though now incredibly aware of the pain of the injury, she looked back at Hitsugaya "Taichō, are you all right?"

Again, wet eyes and sharp anger, not directed at her but at the Hollows, but still strong enough to make her flinch, all the same "I'm fine, Matsumoto, you..." He leaned forward, catching her eyes and holding them "This is an order, Matsumoto" She shook her head as her vision went fuzzy and he placed a hand on her shoulder "Are you listening?"

She fought the dizziness, the pain, and bit out a reply "Hai, taichō"

She felt; more than saw his answering nod "Good. Your orders are not to die, Rangiku"

Startled out of near-unconsciousness by her name in Tōshirō's voice, she blinked up at him "Sir?"

"Fukutaichō Matsumoto Rangiku, you are denied permission to leave this life" Softer now "To leave me"

She started, wincing as it jarred her injury and made the bleeding worse, but she didn't notice. It would be very easy, to ignore Hitsugaya and simply lie down, but she knew she didn't really have a choice.

It would be easy, but Matsumoto was a good fukutaichō. She obeyed the orders she was given, no matter how hard they were to follow.

It was as easy as that.
