The 2018 Yearly 365 Challenge
Prompt #363 (Gene) Supernatural
"What is it that you are trying to tell me?" Betty's eyebrows narrowed; as her arms wrapped tightly across her chest.
"I'm trying to warn you." Sabrina sighed through her nose.
"What you are trying to warn me that your witchy family wants to take me out once again." Betty snared.
"None of my father's side of the family is out to harm you any longer Betty. They know that I won't allow it." Sabrina spoke in a hard tone. She knew this conversion was going to get heated ... even more so then how most of their conversions were. "Cousin I need to tell you what I learned. You and Veronica are in danger. Not due to you being my cousin on mom's side."
Betty grew fearful. "Tell me." She wasn't worried about herself. It was Veronica whom she was deeply concerned about. She had yet to tell her soulmate that she had a bona fied witch as a cousin. She truly didn't know how or when she was going to tell Ronnie this fact ... but she knew now that the time has come.
"Archie came to Greendale last month. I just found this out this morning; Betty. Otherwise I would have of course told you sooner." She watched as Betty's eyes grew even more fearful. "Archie went to Madam Satan and pledged his soul to the darkness."
"N-no that can't be. Archie would never ever do that. For any reason." A cold chill ran up and down Betty's spine as she stared wide eyed at her cousin. "I don't believe it. I can't believe it." Tears rolled down her cheeks.
"Madam Satan told me herself. Finally." Sabrina moved forward to place her right hand on Betty's neck. Betty backed away. Sabrina's hand lowered she knew her cousin couldn't be touched right now. Not by her. Not by anyone. She wished that Betty had brought Veronica with her for this. She knew that Betty wouldn't distance herself from Veronica's touch. She quietly sent a summoning spell towards Veronica ... in hopes that this would speed her cousin's soulmate to Betty's side ... then feeling Betty's pain would.
"How can you suddenly trust Madam Satan, Sabrina; after all you; yourself have told me that you didn't trust her one wit countless times over the years. Why now? Why over this horrible horrible lie?!" Betty snarled.
"Because when she told me; I felt Archie's crushing pain." Sabrina lowly spoke. "I felt his betrayal. I felt his desperte need to take charage of his life."
"By selling his soul to the Dark one!" Betty cried out. "Whom has hurt him?! I will protect him so he can get his soul back."
Sabrina remained silent. Her sad eyes never leaving her cousin's terrfied sea of blue green eyes.
"Tell me Sabrina." Betty husked out.
"It has finally hit home that Veronica chose you over him. That Veronica never truly was his and his alone. That it is you that Veronica lives for." Sabrina swallowed around the lump in her throat. "I'm sorry Betty."
"N-no." Betty whimpered as full realization hit her soul. "Oh God poor Archie." Tears steamed down her cheeks as she realized that he believed that she betrayed him to the core. "I have to save him. I have to protect him."
"It's too late. TheDark One will not allow Archie to go free. Archie is the Dark One's now." Sabrina's heart hurt for this cousin of her's. "The Dark One won't accept your plea for you to take Archie's place. He knows that he wouldn't have your soul freely. Your soul would be wasted to him."
"I'll save Archie." Betty replied in a firm voice.
Sabrina knew that her cousin was on a lost cause. But she knew this cousin of her's very well. "I'll protect him as much as I can." She nodded.
