Remus really liked holding Sirius' hand. His hand was much bigger than his own was, and it was always so warm and soft. Such a shame that they couldn't do it in public. Walking down the corridor, no way. In the common room, probably not. In the street – hell to the no!

They could barely show their affection for each other when they were with the friends who knew – James, Peter, Lily and Tessa. Tess and Lils didn't mind it at all, but the boys honestly thought it was weird sometimes.

The best thing was when the James and Peter had gone to sleep, and Sirius walked over to Remus' bed, looking at him with pleading eyes, as if he needed permission. They'd fix the covers and cast a silencing spell, just in case the others woke up.

All they would really do most of the time was lie in each other's arms, holding hands, and holding on to each other. With this war coming, you could never know when your loved ones would be gone, and they took advantage of it.

However, of course there were many things that could get him through the day, when they couldn't hold hands. There were all the looks, which would make Remus blush and his knees weak.

There was the simple touching, like their arms brushing against each other when they walked to the next class, or the half hugs, or just Sirius poking Remus' arm to get his attention.

Sometimes Sirius would whisper in Remus' ear, sometimes it was simple things, like how annoying it had become watching Lily and James sticking together as one, but it could also be a single sentence – you look great today – that simply astounded him.
Then, when all the lessons was finally over, and they could get back to the dormitories, it was sometimes unbearable. Walking next to Sirius and the others, not being able to even let their pinkies touch..

After that, when they were finally in the dormitories (James and Peter tended to be a little slow), they'd just hug, maybe even kiss if it had been an extra tiring day. Most days they would just hold hands and talk, sitting in one of the beds, and it was honestly pretty comfortable after a long day.

With Sirius' hand linked with his own, he wasn't afraid, he felt protected in some way? The girls thought it was so adorable, but he just shook his head of them.
The percentage of people who'd find them adorable, if they as much as held hands while walking down the street would not be very high. He didn't even dare finish the thought of what would happen. Honestly, maybe Sirius holding his hands, and whispering sweet words in the dark, was enough for now.
