Sakura Kinomoto, I always thought she was always smiling. a happy person. I never knew she was in great pain.
It was just like any other normal day. The sky was cloudless and the sun was out. The birds were chirping on the trees, and Sakura was happy. Her face had that usual glow.
But yet, her eyes were filled with agony. I saw so much pain in her eyes, hiding it beneath her smiling mask. I wished I could take that pain away, comfort her, and ease her pain. I wanted to take her in my arms, and shield her from the sadness that was drowning her.
No. I'm too afraid, too afraid that she might push me away, she might. hate me. All I could do was merely stare at her, watching her cover the pain she was covering with happiness.
"Sakura?" I blurted out unknowingly; it just slipped out of my mouth.
She turned to me, showing her glowing smiles.
"Yes?" she asked happily, but there was a sad tone in her voice.
"I want to talk to you." I stammered
"Okay." she replied. She led me on to one of the benches and she sat there and motioned me to sit beside her.
I couldn't help but stare at her eyes. I was almost lost in its green pools.
"Sakura. Is there something wrong?"
I was hesitant to ask, too afraid that she'd push me away.
"Wrong, what's wrong?" she asked, her smile fading a little bit.
"I could see it Sakura. you're sad." I stammered.
Now, here head was bowed down.
"Oh. I'm sorry." I said, looking at her. Tears were spilling down to her cheeks. She slowly raised her head up. Oh, how I wished to wipe those tears!
"Sakura."
She wiped her own tears, then looked back at me.
"I'm sorry. but I just can't."
"I know." I cut her off, hugging her in my arms.
My warmth enveloped her, like a thick blanket in a cold night.
"I know how hard it feels to pretend. It's hard."
She sobbed in my chest.
Seeing her sad was heartbreaking enough.but to cry? This is too hard for me, every tears seemed like a stab to my chest.
"Please." I said tightening my embrace.
She pushed me gently, meeting her own eyes into mine. Her face was wet with tears; I reached my hand out and wiped the tears away.
"I don't want to see you cry." I said, raising her chin just a little bit.
Tears brimmed in her eyes again.
"Thank you." she replied then hugged me back, surprising me.
".for making it go away." She added.
I looked at her. She was smiling, and a genuine one. The luster had returned in her eyes.
"You're not crying." I muttered, forming a smile.
"Really?" she asked, her smile forming into a grin.
"Really"
I pressed my lips on hers, tasting her sweetness in her lips..
At last, she was happy.
