Elena Gilbert tossed in her bed, the images behind her closed lids making their way into her dreams. He was gone and she couldn't stop dreaming about him. Nobody knew what really happened between Elijah and her in those eight hours she was in her bed. They wouldn't stop but she didn't want them to because every moment she was asleep she was with him again. He was with her under the sheets and she welcomed him.

He put his finger to his lips as he looked at her. He just showed up in her room but it was a nice surprise to see the Original in her bedroom because she missed him. His warm, smooth voice coated her like an expensive whiskey would as it flowed down her throat. Every time she was around him, all she felt was warmth, even though she knew she should be afraid of him. He looked at her and his eyes went from a flat brown to an amber hue. He even smiled a little at her; the more he studied her the more she mesmerized him. He could watch her for hours if allowed to.

'You're dead.' Elena said as she felt the tears prick her eyes and sadness overcome her suddenly

'I'll always be with you, Elena. Let me be the courage in your heart.'

Elijah placed his hands on Elena's face, starting at her hairline, feeling the silky strands under his rough skin. He moved down and caressed her smooth cheeks and her eyes involuntarily fluttered closed. Her lips parted then Elijah leaned forward to connect the space that was between them. Elena was frightened and her body was stiff but the moment she felt Elijah's lips against hers, everything stopped and it was just them.

Elena's eyes opened then she bolted upright in her bed, breathing heavily. She turned on her light then leaned back against her headboard feeling sad. Her gaze went to the wall and she just thought about her dream and hoped that when she went to sleep he would come back to her again.
