The Moon and the Sun, The Beast and the Warrior

It was cold. Very cold. It was never this cold in Hueco Mundo before. There was no winter. There were no seasons. Everything was always the same. Everyday was always the same. Nothing changes in the demon desert, so why did it change today?

"Damn it! I don't need you saving me like that!"

"I already told you that I didn't save you because I wanted to. It is my duty to protect those weaker than myself."

"How the hell do you know that I'm weaker than you are? How do you know that rank means anything!?"

"…"

"See! You can't answer that!"

"You are weaker at heart."

"……"

"You wouldn't understand. You are but a beast."

"Why the hell is there this big a gap in our power that I would need to be saved by her of all people?" Denial on the matter set in. The cold wind shook the desert. "WHY THE HELL AM I SO MUCH WEAKER THAN YOU!?"

"I have already told you this. I need not repeat myself."

"Damn you. You little bitch." He grabbed her by the collar of her shirt as she was about to turn away. "Tell me why I'm so weak!"

"You are weak at heart."

"I need to know more than just that! You've already told me that!"

"…"

"I can't let you save me all the time!"

"…"

"Have you ever thought that I wanted to save someone before!?"

"……" The cold silence lasted and the lone wolf of the wind howled.

"Damn it…" He let go of her shirt collar and she dropped to the ground.

"Get stronger." She whispered as she turned away from the ice wind. The moon was bright, but the air froze the soul. Why did the desert decide to change now, just when the moon seemed to have adjusted to the world. The moon was separate fro the world. The moon belonged to Earth and this world did not deserve its presence. Yet the moon shone anyway.

"What?"

"Get stronger until I will no longer have to protect you."

"Don't tell me what to do, damn it."

"It's a suggestion. Take it however you want."

"I don't want you protecting me."

"That's why you should get stronger."

"Shut the hell up." The moon faced away from the castle. Those who would not accept the moon would not see it and would not be blessed with light. This world's moon didn't exist. Moreover, it did exist, but it could not be seen. A moon reflects a sun's light. Without a sun, the moon was invisible. Without a goal, his power would stay the same. If he was stronger., he wouldn't need to be protected. But the Beast cannot comprehend the same things as the Warrior. If the Beast could become a Warrior, the Beast could understand. The Beast would be strong and the need to draw blood would be replaced by the need to reach goals. The moon could not exist without the sun. The Beast could not exist without the Warrior.

When the moon finally sets, the Beast will protect the Warrior for the first and only time. And all of the world's hatred will fade and the sun can finally come. This will never end.
