A/N: I don't know about you but there was something just so twisted about the finale. Trish and Sully's deaths were the worst, I think, being betrayed by someone so close to them. I really liked Sully who went from being carefree to being the big hero. I loved him!
Disclaimer: Harper's Island belongs to CBS.
Sully was never one to get emotional. He'd told Danny back in the tunnels (may he rest in peace) that he was going change and stop being so guarded. Perhaps that had been a mistake.
He felt proud of himself that he had gotten Shea and Madison off of the island. Sure, the kid was a little strange but she had her whole life ahead of her. And he couldn't leave Henry and Abby. They were his friends.
At least, Abby was. He was shocked when Henry admitted to killing his fiancée, at first thinking it was some kind of sick joke. But the look in his best friend's eyes… All he saw was bloodlust. The same he had seen in John Wakefield's eyes when he was about to shoot Danny. And for the first time, he actually felt like crying. He, Christopher Sullivan, felt like breaking down because in that moment, his whole life came crashing down.
"Don't make me shoot you.", he had said to Henry, his voice cracking. He really didn't want to kill his best friend. Sure, he could shoot Jimmy when he thought that he was the accomplice but not Henry… not the friend he introduced Trish to once they broke up, not the one who stood by his side…
He remembered the good times on the island, before the killings started. Hanging out by the pool, the scavenger hunt, going fishing… But he realized it was all just a sick and twisted plan. Henry had been in with Wakefield the whole time. How could he do that to him, to Trish, to Abby?
And then he was stabbed in the back, literally and figuratively and it hurt like hell. But the pain of dying of a stab wound was nothing compared to the pain in knowing that the person holding the knife was indeed someone he dared to consider a brother.
"You shouldn't have dumped Trish." Henry told him, almost accusingly.
In his final moment of life, he thought of the dark-haired beauty he once had a relationship with and wished he could go back and have made things work between them so she would have never been introduced to this psychopath behind him.
His last thought was that he hoped Abby and Jimmy would make it out alive. It was the very least they deserved.
Christine Sullivan, Sully's twin sister, was forced to identify his body. She and the rest of their family attended the funeral and shed tears for Sully who was taken from them. Christy had once dated Henry, and questioned his mental health at certain points in their relationship, which is why she broke up with him. Trish Wellington had taken her place. It could have been her that was murdered at her to-be wedding.
She did not go to Henry's funeral. Only a handful of people did, the ones who didn't know the atrocities he had committed.
But she cried for him. She cried for Sully and for everyone who suffered on that dreadful island. And she knew, deep in her heart, that her brother and his friends that died with him were in a better place.
May they rest in peace.
